Between the bomb cyclone out on the western realms and the serious flooding concerns on the eastern realms, Nebraska seems to be covered in 'emergency' type situations on the full gamut.

With all the weather around the nation are we at high risk of very serious flooding?  IE the Missouri river flooding that really wreaked havoc about 8 -10 years ago.  

 

Edit.  Wasn't aware of the severity around the state.  It obviously is very serious already.

Absolute devastation right now in Nebraska.  How has there not been a "State of Emergency" declared.  I am sure a lot of these rural towns could use some government resources right now.  National Guard could help out quite a bit.

There has been, it was declared before the storm hit.

This is devastating.   A perfect storm.  A bunch of snow melting.  A lot of rain, and frozen ground unable to soak the rain up.  Everyone stay safe!

So many bridges and roads destroyed. That bridge up by Spencer dam probably was a good 40 to 50 feet above the river. Crazy seeing water flowing over it and ultimately taking it out. With the dam decommissioned already, they was discussion on what to do with it, which I believe ultimately was decided to just to keep in place. Well mother nature just took care of that for them.

Devastating. My brand new travel trailer is halfway underwater. Used twice. I really don’t care - it pales in comparison of the people who’s lives and homes are in jeapordy. I will say as an Omahan, I feel pretty safe from the flooding. But going over the 168th st bridge this morning, I couldn’t believe how high zorinsky is. Jogging paths underwater, the lake is about a foot or less below the road.

Our Lakehouse south of Columbus is dry as far as we know. Can’t get there. All I can say is “knock on wood” and we will volunteer to help others who need help.
