nuhusker7 Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 I wonder if there is a team near his hometown that is in need for a big man.... Also if there is any possibility of him playing immediately because he is going home for "family reasons" Quote
hhcmatt Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 uh... I should have waited a day Quote

Norm Peterson Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 In that case, take him. He'd come in as a sophomore, immediately eligible to play next year? I'd be down with that. Quote

Huskerone Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 If I remember right during his Senior year he had a twitter rant on how, and this was the jist if I remember right, was not a big fan of Husker fans, couldn't wait to get out of this state or something like that. Not sure he'd want to come to DONU. Quote
tuxino Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 Hmm.. Does miles take him? Hmm I almost think he ends up at a school like uno. If he comes home good for him, but idk if miles has another option in mind. Unless we are able to land Semi and are full I think Miles wants him. Isn't his floor Leslee Smith lite minus the knee issues? I think we would be able to build him up pretty well over the course of a year. Dimes, guys, I believe he will be offered by Creighton. It is a long shot to say the least and Nebraska needs bigs, Creighton can afford the luxury of big in waiting. I don't believe we can...period. Weather we take him or not I would think Tim has to talk to him first and then make a decision. He is a man without a country so to speak. tux Quote

I'm not sure how the Jays would be in a position to offer anyone transferring mid-season. My assumption was he would redshirt for year because of the NCAA, not because he isn't prepared to play. Should he actually get a medical redshirt and be able to play in the fall of 2015, he's going to play. I'm pretty skeptical that the NCAA would grant him a medical though. Quote

Silverbacked1 Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 just to throw this out there, but didn't he go to a husker game and stand on the side lines right after he verbaled to the Ville? I think that he and Tim have a good relationship and that might be what is needed for him to come here. Just gotta hope. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 I would love to get Akoy. He should be a good player at Nebraska. The young man should also be humbled by his Cardinal experience. I repeat, he should be...and if he is, he will be a better player for it. But at the risk of being vilified, I do not want to overcook the courtship. I want him to come here because he knows it is the right place for him. I do not want the baggage that could be a product of him being close to home. I want a kid who wants to be a team player, I want a kid who wants to play hard. I want a kid who wants to fit in an be an important player on the team, either as a role player, or a take charge player, whatever fits the niche. Quotes like this: “My phone has been ringing nonstop with potential suitors,’’ said Scott Hammer, who coached Agau when he was younger. “It’s a pretty big list.’’ ...always tend to bother me. What are his demands and expectations when he picks his new team? What happens if those demands and expectations are not met? How is his character? How does he fit with the other players? I repeat, I want Akoy...I wanted him before he went to the Cardinals. But I do not want him at any cost... Quote
BarryCollierStillSucks Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 I think a change of scenery will help Agau, plus he fills a huge need that Nebraska has in the front court. The marriage would work really well. Of course, I would also like to have Ojeleye as well, but there's not enough scholly's for both. hhcmatt 1 Quote
lanigan123 Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 I wonder if he can play the 5? Is he better than say Morrow? Not so sure. Quote

Swan88 Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 According to Robin Washut, Nebraska is the only school located in this state that is in the mix with Akoy--the other two are not likely to be considered. Robin has an excellent article on the Akoy Agau subject today in the Red Sea Scrolls' premium "Tunnel Talk." That article is worth the price of admission! Quote

I don't think that's what Robin Washut was quoted as saying. He played in limited action this year due, apparently, to a lingering injury. So, this year might not count. He could potentially still use this as his "sitting out" year, take it as a medical redshirt, and be immediately eligible next year as a sophomore, as though he'd transferred over the summer. That's the way I interpreted what they said. Quote
