LK - I think you're forgetting Palmer, the transfer from Miami. Some guys who watch practice regularly tell me he's one of the best players on the team right now. I temper that comment because people told me the same thing about Gill, but they say Palmer plays with a confidence and swagger unlike any of the other guys on the team. He's a guy who can play at either the 2 or 3 position.

They said it about Petteway and YKHIII, too.

This is a 5 star recruit that, at times, lived up to it when healthy his sophomore year.

He's literally capable of dropping 30 on some nights.  Absolutely huge get.  We now have the best front court in the league next season.  Easily.  And this kid can be a legitimate 3 at 6' freaking 9".

Wow.

I hate to be the resident Eeyore, but when I measure your response with what I'm reading online (such as below), I have a hard time being as excited.

Nebraska has landed a commitment from Georgetown transfer Isaac Copeland, a source told NBC Sports.

Copeland was a five-star prospect coming out of high school, but the 6-foot-8 forward never progressed in his career with the Hoyas. He had bright moments as a freshman and looked good in flashes as a sophomore, but he lost playing time this year as a junior and eventually left the program.

The connection here is pretty obvious: Kenya Hunter, a former assistant with Georgetown who recruited Copeland to the Hilltop, is now on Tim Miles’ staff in Lincoln.

Copeland has one year of eligibility remaining. He will be eligible to play for the spring semester in the 2017-18 season or for the entire year in 2018-19.

I agree we need a pg/tai type combo.  I'm assuming fuller will graduate which is why we are even discussing it.

Turner can do a bunch of things but he is definitely limited offensively.

The rest of the roster is going to be a blast to watch.  Depth up and down from 2-5.

So... will next year be the most talented roster in Huskers history?

On paper perhaps.  This would also put us around somewhere between 6th and 9th place overall in the conference, btw

Holy crap you're right.

Palmer - Akenten at the 2 is looking pretty lovely.

The only ones I'm worried about are Gill and McVeigh... not sure where they end up in the rotation.

Totally understandable, and he'll have to prove it.  What I know is that he averaged 11pts and 6rbs a game as as true sophomore in a good conference, including a 32pt, 9rb game against Marquette, a 23pt, 8rb game against St. Johns, and a 21pt, 6rb game against #5 Duke that season.

This is a kid who can be the best player on the court at times.  He's right in line with our talented sophomore class.  Guard skills at 6'9" and a decent shooter.  He can get his own shot.

For this reason, i think you will see him play the 4 spot a lot. Pick and roll/pop. He would provide a scoring threat that will stress the defense in ways that Morrow and/or Jacobson can't from deep. Even though he has the athleticism and shooting ability of a 3, I think you will see him in a stretch-4 role more often than not, with Morrow playing the 5-spot and playing the role of a more traditional banger down low.

I think Nebraska has a legit 10-11 man rotation next season. I think it could look something like this:

Starting Lineup:

1- Watson
2- Palmer
3- Roby
4- Copeland
5- Morrow

Bench:

1- Taylor
2- Gill / Akenten
3- Horne / Akenten
4- Jacobson
5- Tshimanga

We all had the lineup pegged going into the season and it hasn't really looked like that at all.

I think I was probably the only one high on ET. And he's really stepped up; tough player rewarded for his work.

Ummm our bench on this list would have all started in 2012-2013

Also I think I would start Taylor at the 2

Does anyone know when and where his surgery will be done and how long the rehab will be? Discs are pretty straightforward but back surgery can be unpredictable. Anyone have any personal experience and then get back on a basketball court? Just wondering.
