The ESPN3 commentators are brutal.  Whoever this color commentator is takes 15 seconds to get a sentence completed, thanks to multiple long pauses per phrase.  He sounds like he's falling asleep at the mic.

I actually thought the play by play guy was pretty good. But man that color guy was awful. Zzzzzzzzz. Oh shoot there is a game going on....

I'm still hopeful for him, but this team needs him.  Taylor did have 26 minutes, though.

I wondered about that. This is the first game I've been able to see and it seemed like Taylor was getting minutes at a crucial juncture that I would not have expected. Has this been typical? Was someone hurt? Is Taylor just making that much progress?

Maybe a match-up thing?  Miles talked about La Tech playing a bunch of guards in his postgame show.

I'd say it's more that we only have three guards that can be trusted at this point.  Taylor's upside is low, but he hustles, plays unselfish, and defends.  That's more than you can say about Gill right now.  Gill's defensive lapses were known coming into the year, and unfortunately his offensive game appears lacking as well.  Seems to shoot the ball every time he gets a touch, and looks careless as a ball handler (dribbles the ball very high and away from his body...super easy to pick pocket).  While Roby or Horne may be able to steal some minutes at the 2 later in the year, both look a little slow moving laterally when guarding smaller/quicker players.  So in a game where you're protecting a lead, it makes sense that Webster, Watson, and Taylor had the lion's share of the guard rotation minutes.

Anton Gill played 5 minutes?? Severely disappointed

Not sure if you mean severely disappointed in the decisions with regard to his  playing time, or just disappointed that he hasn't earned more minutes.   He has really struggled, and it's not surprising that he wasn't in the rotation.  Big time scuffling so far when on the floor.

Disappointed that he hasn't earned more minutes. By all accounts during his redshirt season he was an amazing scorer. I hoped everything else would come along as well. I was hoping he was going to be able to come in and help fill the void left by white, but as of now it doesn't look like that will happen. I fully trust Coach Miles in his substitution decisions

I think Taylor has easily been our must underrated player.  Say what you want about his offensive skill, but he did a great job taking care of/moving the ball last night.  Defensively, I think he's pretty far above average.  Being as big as he is and able to really guard the 2 is huge for us.  He's a very good defender--strong and tough, not to mention tall.  We needed him out there to hound those guys last night.  I like his game.

If Anton truly is a scorer like many of us believe he is, this can only be a good thing for us. We are 3-0 and he has yet to contribute which means he's due BIG TIME. Hopefully has a big game or two in the tourney. That's my positive spin on the situation.

Coaches and teammates have got to help him keep his head up until his game comes around.

While not really being an offensive threat Taylor is playing defense and I think we preferred to have his ball handling skills on the court vs a team like this.
