Fullbacksympathy Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 He'd be a great get. Gorgeous looking shot. Nifty offensive game. This kid would be a phenomenal compliment to Nana. Quote
uneblinstu Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 (edited) His final 5 back in October were: Ohio State, Nebraska, N.C. State, Virginia Tech and Saint Louis. Safe to say NCSU is out of the picture, I think. Not sure where OSU or VTech stand, but VT was in the tourney this year. This is the read I get on this: get a freshman guard (Smith or Allen, Pickford as a fall back), get a JUCO shooter, we know of at least two already, wouldn't be surprised to see other offers go out. That said, if somehow it ended up being Smith and Allen, I wouldn't be disappointed. Edited March 24, 2017 by uneblinstu hhcmatt 1 Quote

Jugular Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 This kid will blow up with offers in about 24-48 hours Quote
hskr4life Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 Get this kid and either Smith or Copeland, and I would say that this class would certainly be a steal! Quote
Minnesota_Husker Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 My only thought would be does he have concerns with us and Ohio state seeing both coaches are on the hot seat?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

FredsSlacks Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 (edited) allen or smith could be our point guard of the future. hopefully we can get at least 1. have to like our chances if OSU backs off. just checked and OSU signed a point guard 8 days after allen committed to NC State. hopefully miles is still on good terms with allen. We just have to have guys on board for playing 5 minutes one game and then 20 the next as a Freshman. We cannot afford to have someone come in and want all the playing time in the world right away and transfer if they do not get it. Silverbacked1, Norm Peterson and mwm89 3 Quote

nustudent Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 (edited) Think it is more about role than pure playing time too. I think most players (stress most) probably understand where they stand as freshmen in regards to status against upper classmen. Knowing that you will play 12 minutes a night in a specific role I think is easier to take than averaging 15 minutes a night but seeing your time shoot up and down at any given time for no apparent reason (especially when the teams performance is sporatic). That being said....also think we want guys that expect to play. Probably means they are competitive and have some talent behind their game. Be a bit worried if a guy was coming in to expecting to redshirt on a below average team. Edited March 24, 2017 by nustudent Quote
bigFRED Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 Honesty I would be shocked if Mark Smith came here, mainly because he really hasn't shown any interest on twitter or anything. But Allen did show us some love earlier so he is probably more realistic. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
FredsSlacks Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 (edited) getting either smith or allen would be huge. tough to land a top 150 prospect this late in the process, and they both happen to play a position of need. Edited March 25, 2017 by TimSmiles Quote

True, yet the QB we were recruiting named us in his top three, and then just two days later gave a verbal commitment to a team that wasn't in his declared top three. These days kids go where they want, how they want and when they want, and oftentimes there is no logical reason behind it...or so we think. ShortDust 1 Quote
