Nice effort by Yale to climb back into it.  Gotta be painful cutting it back to 3 and then not being able to finish the deal. I expect they'll want to retreat now to their safe space and recover emotionally from this loss.

They'll be hitting the bott.... Errr Books hard tonight.

Watching this NCAA tournament, I am still of the opinion that we are just one good big man away. Plus, of course, our current players need to take the usual incremental step forward and in some cases a bigger step than others. Still, just one good big man away.

Feeling really conflicted right now. What I rather have Indiana lose or Kentucky lose?

Two of my least favorite coaches.  Seeing Huggins knocked out in the first round was great.  Calipari losing always puts a smile on my face.

Watching the game one thing I noticed and it was just one play, but I never notice our guys doing this.  Yogi drives to the basket, draws a big man to him, and Bryant runs to the rim.  Maybe we do it more, but just don't pass it to the guy down low.  It seems like anytime Shields or Tai drove, we would have our other 4 guys standing out at the 3 point line, or standing and watching.  Jacobson or White need to go to the basket for an easy dunk or lay-up.  I think Morrow is one guy that will do that.

I agree. I think Marrow is one guy who did this and it did wonders for him in terms of scoring.

I think we should still have enough quality players that even if we fail to land that one big man, we should be able to at least make the NIT and be on the NCAA bubble next year.  Of course, if we find that big man, I won't complain.

I go back to 2008-09, when we had two players that were 6'8" or taller.  They played in only 12 minutes per game, and yet we finished 8-8 in the Big 12 that year, making the NIT.  We also didn't have the quality of players we have on the roster, this year.

Anyone else get annoyed when players on the bench put their arms out and pretend to hold each other back from going on the court after a big play?

Just had to get that off my chest.

I think in these instances, the score is usually close and therefore the guy is basically saying "sorry guys but you ain't getting in this one" to the end of the bench. Ha!

Watching this Miami game thinking about how close we were to beating them

I really like Larranaga, and was impressed listening to Rodriguez after the game.  Miami's not my favorite school to say the least, but wouldn't mind seeing the Hurricanes advancing some more this week.

I picked Miami going fairly far based on Rodriguez. Having a senior PG who can ball is a major asset in this tourney.

Totally agree, I just told someone that exact same thing today!

Having watched an entire weekend of NCAA tournament, I haven't changed my mind.  I remain convinced that we have sufficient talent and depth at the 1-3.

The 4 and 5 are somewhat more iffy, AFAIC.  We have either the bouncy athlete or the skilled guy.  We don't have both in the same package.  So, Ed Morrow has some offensive skills to work on and/or Michael Jacobson and Jack McVeigh have some body makovers to attend to.

And Tim Miles has some work, too:  He needs to find a guy who can come in next year straight out of the box and defend the post without needing the double team.

Trust me, fellas:  We're one good big man away.
