Just did a little comparison of our Michigan game thread in a close frustrating loss to our neighbors here in Omaha in a close frustrating loss against Georgetown thread. Their fan base considers us to be rednecks, dumber, less classy and many other things. We know better. We know who the better people are. Jesus Christ name used improperly. Creighton 4 Nebraska 0 Players directly bashed. Creighton 9 Nebraska 2 Obscene f fbombs and other vulgarity Creighton 9 Nebraska 2 Direct Coach bashing Creighton 16 Nebraska 0. Thanks for keeping things classy over here everyone. Our board is a great representation of our great state. Creighton board is a great representation of Creighton.

Looking at the game again, the game was lost when Shields missed the front end of the one and one... they got the rebound and dunked it... That was a 4 point swing so instead of him making it a one possession game at 68-66 it ended up being 70-64. That was the game changer with 2 minutes left in the game. No way will I complain about Shields, because he almost single handily won us the game at Mich St.. This just goes to show how close we actually are to being a "great" team and not just good. We were a missed free through away from possibly winning 5 in a row. On to Purdue... People say that they are going to kill us, because of the miss match down low. We also have the mismatch on speed. I predict White has a HUGE game... talking 30+

Safe assumption. I have been known to venture over to a couple other Husker Boards from time to time, and let me tell you it's downright embarrassing to see the level of "knowledge" over there. They may claim to be all Huskers to the Max, but let me just say that there seems to be a pretty decent reason for the whole low BBIQ stereotype that outside fanbases seem to have regarding Husker fans. It's kind of disappointing, but it is what it is I guess. Thank God for HHC.

We renewed discussions with Oklahoma and scheduled football games. There have also been whispers with Oklahoma finally having enough of the Big 12, and may be looking to the Big Ten as a possible landing spot. My flawed logical/sequential thought process leads me to believe we have opened basketball, baseball and volleyball discussions with them as well.

Auroran, I think you're right. I think it was KU. And that dunk, if I remember correctly, helped put that game away.

I watched the Georgetown game and I can't believe Creighton lost. They were in control for most of the game, got some breaks from the refs and were up 11 with under 2 min left. They melted down big time in the last 1 1/2 min. Missed free throws and turned it over. Had to be extremely frustrating to watch if you are a Jays fan. (I wouldn't know ) I wouldn't know either, but let me attempt to put it into terms that both Creighton fans and Nebraska fans would understand... it's probably as frustrating as watching Nebraska lose to Illinois or Purdue in football last year.

Saw Gary Sharpe tweet this morning that Chang will land at NU or out of state. Sharpe typically doesn't come off as someone who will BS. Have to like NU's chances here...

I like the idea of pressing. The longer we can take them into a shot clock before they can get the ball to a big in scoring position the better. I think combining a press with some 2-3 or 1-3-1 zone could work. Something that makes it hard to feed inside. The other option is doubling down but it is isn't something I like doing at all for an entire game. Offensively we need to push the tempo. They might have size on is but I think we have speed and athleticism and we need to get their bigs tired by forcing them to sprint back on defense. Last thing I have to say is that we need to drive at their bigs. And drive often. We will get our shots blocked at times? Yea. But 7 footers are more apt to swat at the ball instead of taking charges so getting them in foul trouble would be a big benefit for us. Wouldn't hurt to have the 3 fall for us on Saturday either
