busticket Posted November 16, 2015 Report Posted November 16, 2015 Benny Parker (and to a lesser extent Tai) will be key to this game IMO. Villanova has excellent guard play so if Benny can make them uncomfortable with his high octane D it can disrupt what they like to do. Tall order for sure. If White and McVeigh can have an encore performance from 3 it would greatly help. I think this will be a fun game, but I think the line on the game is about right. Quote
huskerbaseball13 Posted November 16, 2015 Report Posted November 16, 2015 Villanova opens as a 16.5 favorite. Which is a VERY high line no matter the competition. Vegas giving NU no shot. Honestly...that sounds about right. I told my friend this weekend I thought the line would be around 17. Would be great to win...but I just want to see us play well against a good team. Quote

If Nebraska is able to keep this game within 10, that's nearly as good as expectations allow for a 2nd game with a fresh lineup. Guess we'll see how it plays out tomorrow night... Quote

A blow out win has the same impact as a 1 point win in quadruple overtime. 49r 1 Quote
Dean Smith Posted November 16, 2015 Report Posted November 16, 2015 On the defensive end, they play a style that attacks the gaps and is intended to create turnovers. They love to turn a team over and then convert those turnovers to easy baskets with all of their speed. Expect them to bait ball handlers into unwise passes and shots. They don't play real tight D on the perimeter, so there should be a fair amount of open threes available so shooters should be ready to fire. Not trying to be difficult. Just trying to clarify. It may be something new but I am unaware of defenses that attack the gaps. What gaps on offense would you be referring to? I'm familiar with zone offenses attack a particular zone's gaps but not the other way around. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted November 16, 2015 Report Posted November 16, 2015 Gus Johnson and Bill Raftery on the FS1 broadcast. Expect hysterics. Quote

Still, not a moral victory, IMO. AuroranHusker 1 Quote

jimmykc Posted November 17, 2015 Report Posted November 17, 2015 Interview was ok although i might have added a subtle jab by saying NU would feel about the same as Villanova would if they beat Creighton. And I wonder if Raftery remembers me? We once stood side by side at urinals in the old Bob Devaney restroom. So I always have that going for me. Silverbacked1 1 Quote

The Duke was asked what he hated the most about being him and he said being at a urinal. Because he could count how many times a guy would turn to him and say "Hey, your John Wayne". Said it ruined a lot of shoes and cost a lot on dry cleaning. jimmykc 1 Quote
jimmykc Posted November 17, 2015 Report Posted November 17, 2015 I also stood at the same urinals in the bottom floor restroom at BDSC with such notables as Jay Bilas, Jerry Krause (GM of the Bulls), Matt Davison, and our own Kent Pavelka. Forgot to look at their shoes though (and Kent always wears such nice ones). Quote
