You have to figure with an escalated time table for signing day with hoops in the fall that you see a lot more guys visit early on to get a better feel of where they will end up. HB Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Maybe he just wanted to see some snow! He would be seeing plenty of that today, Red Don! There's a blanket of the white stuff out there. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted January 25, 2016 Author Report Posted January 25, 2016 Maybe he just wanted to see some snow! That certainly could be. There is synthetic snow that is WAY cheaper... Quote

As it stands now Nebraska is the best offer, in terms of level, and has him intrigued. It's one thing to see a football game but it's another to see the arena, team, etc of the sport you will actually be playing. He now has the flexibility to come back this fall on our dime but also have the experience of the hoops visit this weekend. It bodes extremely well for us as it has to really push NU to the forefront of his mind and will be his measuring stick going forward. Kudos to the coaches for getting him to visit now and try and lock him down now before a bunch more teams get involved. Swan88 1 Quote

Traveling halfway across the country is a long ways to go in the middle of his season. It is clearly a testament to the recruitment by Miles & Co. That was really the sentiment that I hoped to convey. Masterful work by Miles & Co. It was 22 degrees in Lincoln, and Saben Lee WANTED to be in Lincoln instead of watching the game from my home in Arizona. That's pretty cool Quote

Concrete Posted January 28, 2016 Report Posted January 28, 2016 Is there a connection to Nebraska here for Saben? I'm fired up that he came here on an unofficial, just seems really strange. Hoping that there is some sort of family connection to Nebraska or our coaching staff that would give us a leg up Quote
uneblinstu Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 I mean, Beckner's an Arizona native. Possible he's got connections there still. From his bio, I'm not sure he's ever worked there, though. Quote
uneblinstu Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 It looks like Weber St. may have had some communication with him at some point, too, so Beckner may have been involved in that? Red Don 1 Quote
