This kid seems underrated to me.  Just like I thought of Roby.  And then Roby jumps into the Rivals 150.  Not saying this kid belongs that high, but this kid appears to merit a more prestigious offer list.  I guess, for our sake, I'm glad he doesn't have one. 

 

I'd take this dude, Roby and some 6'10", 250# athletic freak to go with.  And I'd call that a damn fine complement to the '15 class.

Just checked the Underground as he lists the bluebirds among his options.  I always thought they were pretty on top of their recruiting over there but I don't see a thread dedicated to him at all.

 

That's OK.  If they don't want him, we'll take him.  Great shooter; he'd be perfect for our system.

He's a Round Rock, TX kid.  Let me just say that, compared to the last shooting guard we pulled out of Texas, this kid looks more athletic, looks like a better shooter, appears to have more savy with the ball and better instincts than the last one, whom a lot of folks figured would probably be our starting shooting guard by about now.

(Having said all that nice stuff about him, he does appear to need to learn to use his left hand more.  Just sayin.)

I personally want Jeriah Horne and a player to be named later. I feel like the SG spot is easily one we can fill with transfers or late additions whereas finding the SF-PF-C positions seem to be tougher to fill.

I think we have 3 spots available.  I could certainly live with Roby, Horne and Brooks and feel like we did darn well, especially following the disastrous end to last season.

 

I disagree about it being easy to add SGs later.  You can add shooting guards, but you can't always add ones who can shoot.  And I think this kid can.  At least that's how it appears from watching his film.  He has superb mechanics and he has some really good hops for a kid who hadn't started his senior year of HS yet when the clips were filmed.

 

Like I said above, it would appear he needs to learn to use his left hand more.  But he has some explosiveness as shown on the dunks and the blocks he had.  He has good form, and he has good range.  And, from the video you posted, he looks like a heady player.

 

I like this kid.  The coaches obviously do, because they've offered.  I don't think we need to wait on picking up this SG now in hopes that a similar model goes on sale at a later date.  Let's get both this kid and Horne.

Were you guys aware of Brooks' connection to NU before his announcement? I do see this thread was started today

I can't speak for anyone else, but I wasn't aware of him.  That said, I'm giving the Underground credit here.  I would not have expected to scoop you guys on a recruit.  I went to the Underground to see what you guys were saying about him because I expected you'd have already been following him.  I was surprised to see you hadn't.  You have a couple of posters over there that practically verge on obsessive when it comes to knowing who the recruits are.  So, the fact it was up here before the news was posted there surprised me a little bit.

So his Rivals profile is wrong, then.  According to Rivals he has an offer.  Must be something there.  Maybe they're waiting for him to make his official visit when they get back from Espana.  Meanwhile, Eric Bossi (whoever he is) says he can stretch a defense, hasn't been coddled, and has plenty of upside. 

 

I just like the fact that he's a 3-level scorer with some hoops IQ and bounce.  Like a Ryan Anderson who can dunk it.  (Sorry, Ryan.)

Yes Robin did an interview with him and said he doesnt hold an offer yet at this time but in intrigued with what he is being told, so much so that they made his final 5 without an offer.
