49r Posted March 11, 2016 Report Posted March 11, 2016 I didn't realize he was in the Rivals 150. WOW! Remember when Hammond signed and we were like "holy ****, we just signed a Rivals 150 basketball player." Now we sign players and don't even realize they were there. Next year our roster will include how many former Rivals 150 players? 7 maybe? Depends on how you want to classify McVeigh and Webster. General consensus around here is if they were U.S. kids they would have both likely been top 150 types. But here's how it stacks up now: 2016 - Roby, Horne 2015 - Morrow, Watson Transfers - White, Gill If you add McVeigh and Webster, you could legit say 8. Quote
colhusker Posted March 11, 2016 Report Posted March 11, 2016 One last thing, Jeriah can handle the ball a bit, he struggled taking he guy off the dribble early but Mountain Grove was triple teaming him near the basket so he didn't have much room. When he got it one on one, he beat his guy. All this said, of the two Div 1 prospects Barstow has in my opinion we got the better of the two based on last nights game. Well Rush is a walkon so I'd hope the guy getting a scholarship and ranked in the Rivals 150 is better than a D1 walkon no matter what school he is attending. Did not know that, he is listed as a commitment on Scout, assume he had a ship. Quote
colhusker Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 Didn't get over to watch but Horne went off for 39 and 14 in the state finals. However, Shea Rush missed a FT and short shot to win at the buzzer throwback and mwm89 2 Quote
HuskerCager Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 Now, that is impressive. Just curious, what state HS class in Nebraska would compare to 3A in Missouri? Quote

Norm Peterson Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 Jeriah Horne was going up against a Rivals 5-star junior forward named Michael Porter. #2 player in the class of 2017. They had nearly identical lines, both finishing with 39 points. The porter kid had 19 rebounds to Horne's 14. Quote

Silverbacked1 Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 Hey looks like we have a winner here. Like that he has a three point shot and isn't just an undersized kid that works really hard for his shots around the rim. colhusker and Norm Peterson 2 Quote
bobcat402 Posted March 14, 2016 Report Posted March 14, 2016 This kid is gonna be a good one, maybe not day one, but i have a feeling the learning curve will not be steep Quote

Like that he has a three point shot and isn't just an undersized kid that works really hard for his shots around the rim. I truly feel he will similar at the college level, not to where he's at as a pro, as Draymond Green was at Michigan State. Lots of similarities between the two. Quote
Fullbacksympathy Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 I watched some film of him. If we can chisel him up, he has some serious one on one gifts with the ball in his hands. I'd like to see him bulk up to 225-230.. I think his frame would take advantage. I agree with the DG comparison, though I think JH has a ways to go on defense. Offensively, though, they do have a pretty strong resemblance. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 If you look at a photo of him from a year or two ago, and then look at him today, you will see somewhat of a positive transition. He went from, umm, carrying some bad weight to looking pretty sculpted. I would guess that he perhaps worked himself into shape and perhaps matured and lost his baby fat. I am not sure what his weight is, but it looks like his body adjusted. I would guess he can add muscle, but the dude is looking like a major college basketball player right now. Me likey!!! Quote
Norm Peterson Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 CWG, I think you're absolutely right about that, and I don't think you have to go back to a year or two ago. I think if you look at pictures from this summer and compare to recent photos (which I would post if I knew how -- I'll try, though) you'll see a guy who looks slimmed down. No wonder colhusker thought he looked thinner in person. Then: (The picture won't post, but imagine someone who looks decidedly rounder.) Now: Quote
Norm Peterson Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 He looks pretty sturdy Watch the video of him nailing treys in the state champ game. The difference in the pictures: His face looks definitely thinner in the more recent photo and his gut looks thinner, too. In the photo above, he looks like he has pretty flat abs; in the older picture that wouldn't post, he looks like he has a little fat abs. Quote
MichHusker Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 Is it just me or does his body style/play kinda look a bit like Denzel Valentines? Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 Is it just me or does his body style/play kinda look a bit like Denzel Valentines? Same program but feel his game, body type, etc reminds me more of this former Spartan. Norm Peterson 1 Quote
