Wish a guy like this could re-classify to 2015... would fill an immediate need & he'd be available for play Div. 1 ball for 3 years! Too bad, oh so sad.

If he was able to take enough classes this summer to graduate from juco in August ...

The funny thing I always think of when I see this is that the kid didnt have the drive for 4 year of HS to be eligible in the first place asking them to work harder than someone else to graduate in 3 semesters instead of 4 is like a unicorn.

Well, Roburt Sallie did it, so is he a unicorn?  I knew he was taking an enhancement product, but I figured it was for something else ...  :o

Yes he is because he never played for NU.

Robin Washut has a premium article on Arlando Cook.

Here is a quote from the article, as to whether NU is a legitimate contender for his services: "They actually really are," Cook said.

Also, says he won't take official visits or narrow his list of schools until Spring.

Smart of him. He's got some good offers now and don't see them going away but assuming he continues to get better his offers should get even better when teams need to fill some gaps. It sucks for us but for him it could be very good.

He's going into his sophomore year in juco.  Found some interesting stats on him from his freshman year.

He started all 33 games.

In the only game in October '14, he scoed 6 points

In 11 games in November '14, he averaged 9.3 ppg

In 3 games in December '14, it was 8.0 ppg

In 7 games in January '15, he improved to 12.4 ppg

Then, in 6 games in February '15, it was back to 9.8 ppg.

But then, in 5 games in March '15, he averaged 19.4 ppg  :o

He really elevated his game for the post season, looks like.

Michael Jacobson and Jacob Hammond are both over 6'7". Technically, Edward Morrow is, apparently, only a hair short of 6'8"--he's certainly over 6'8" in shoes.

Oh, and on Tim Miles' last team at CSU (which team made the NCAA Tournament), the tallest player who played more than a handful of minutes per game was listed on the official roster at [drumroll] 6'6" tall.

Here's guessing we won't see many 6'10"+ Nebrasketball players who log significant minutes any time soon--most aren't sufficiently athletic to do what Tim Miles wants in the post position.

Not my favorite prospect.

you are aware that we only have 1 player over 6'7 on our roster, correct?

Yes'm.  And I hope to heck we can do better than this 6'9" dude who weighs in at a whopping 215#.

But, if we cain't, we cain't.  And I'll be standing there welcoming him to Husker nation along with all y'all when that day comes.

I think that the measurement of players should be less subjective. It seems to vary as much as 4 or 5 inches at times, depending upon whether the player posts it himself, the school posts it, etc. My own height will vary on my physicals depending upon whether I slouch down, whether they make me take off my shoes, whether my hair is permed or Mohawked (made that one up, but you get the picture). This especially is unreliable around the 6' 9 to 7'0 mark which seem to make recruiters salivate. In other words, there should be some sort of penalty for deliberately fudging this important measurement just like an SAT score.

My feeling was simply that he's not a post and he's a 2-year guy.  He's no taller, really, than Leslee Smith, and a lot lighter, so he's not going to be banging anyone around in the paint.  If we're looking for a juco, my thought process would be that you scour the juco ranks for the potential rebounder/rim-protector who doesn't necessarily need to score as much as just play good defense in the post.  I don't think this is that guy.

If we can find that guy, it would be better.  Seems like we should at least look.  As it stands, we have plenty of guys who would fall into the PF part of the spectrum, where this guy probably fits.

No knock on Arlando.  It's just that our needs are slightly different.

Having said that, I'd be more than happy to take a 4-year player like a Jeriah Horne who, though shorter, appears to have more long-term upside.
