TheKamdyMan Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 Looks like we offered the Rivals #62 SF tonight in the 2017 class. He's a DC kid so obviously a Kenya guy. Quote
Red Don Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 Damn! You are fast, Kamdy! 2017 Kid http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/207215/melo-eggleston Quote
AuroranHusker Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 Timmel (nicknamed 'Melo') is 6'-8" 187#, reminiscent of NU commit Isaiah Roby (6'-7" 185#). Miles has stated he likes recruits that are "long, lean & underrated." He ain't kidding. Quote

I didn't think he was kidding, BTW; I have that "zucchini" tag line as a part of my signature on here.. Both 6'-7" 185# and 6'-8" 187# are clearly 'long & lean'. It's no accident, and the 'underrated' comes into play to get in early & stay with 'em. the recruiting philosophy is not lost in Miles' sayings however much sound-byte there seems to be in them.. TheKamdyMan Posted May 19, 2015 Author Report Posted May 19, 2015 turns out this is Burno's guy. He had already built things at UF with him and plans to visit sometime this summer. Red Don and hhcmatt 2 Quote

Navin R. Johnson Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 Robin Washut retweeted Aguek Arop @aguek33 2h2 hours ago S/O my boy Melo ( @LocalCeleb_ ) for picking up an offer from Nebraska! #Nebrasketball Red Don, hhcmatt and Norm Peterson 3 Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted May 19, 2015 Author Report Posted May 19, 2015 So how many offers from Nebraska does he have? I think its just this generations lack of wherewithal when it comes to grammatical usage for spelling and punctuation. Twitter is the death of spelling and punctuation, or that's what I hear from older people. hhcmatt, Red Don and Neebraska 3 Quote
AuroranHusker Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 So how many offers from Nebraska does he have? That little comma between "offer" & "from" is so small, it might even be 'missing'! Quote

I just figured we must REALLY want the kid if we've offered him multiple times. And, obviously, he's taken note. Just sayin'. atskooc 1 Quote

Placing a semicolon after the word offer, is perfectly acceptable. Actually, grammatically, the way it was written was correct. It simply left room for interpretation as to exactly what was meant. I am a high school English teacher, yes. And no, a semicolon after "offer" in the above tweet would not make sense grammatically. A semicolon goes between two complete thoughts (i.e. sentences) which are related closely enough so as to not need a period. "From Nebraska" is not a complete thought. Quote

fred1212 Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 I hole-hardedly agree, but allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peach of cake. hhcmatt and 4huskers 2 Quote
