I've tried to tune in for a bit of all the games and so far have come up with these observations. 1. We'll have our work cut out for us when the league schedule begins. I don't see any games in which we will have a "breather". I just hope we won't lose anyone to physical attrition by NCAA time. And it does appear these will be the #1 and2 conferences this year. 2. Watching the Purdue/N.C. St. benches lets me know where to page Bobby Lutz and Danny Manning this year. (although my inside source at KU claims Danny was seen at the airport in Omaha). 3. The underestimated freshman Isaac Haas for the Boilermakers appears to have been recruited from the cast of "300". What a behemoth! 4. We'll see how tonight goes, but one more victory by the Big 10 makes them the winner. It might not happen when I look at the matchups.

The Big Ten has earned its stripes this year...I haven't seen Northwestern play yet, but I have now watched every other team play one or more games...and I am impressed up and down the line.

It's gonna be pretty hard to get there (9-5), not impossible, but difficult.  Wisco/Duke is gonna be a dogfight, so will Maryland/UVA.  Both of those games are on the B1G team's home court, so you'd think we'll have a bit of an advantage there.  MSU has to go on the road to Notre Dame and Iowa has to go to North Carolina.  So, maybe 2-2 there?  I dunno, we could also get all 4 or lose all 4.

Penn State, IMO has the best opportunity to get a W with a home game against Virginia Tech.  Not sure what to think about Northwestern and GT.

B1G up 6-2 over the ACC by my count after Tuesday's games.   That means B1G needs to win only ONE of the final six games slated for today to retain possession of the challenge trophy. :D

The conference that wins most of the games for that year takes possession. In case of a tie, the existing trophy holder retains possession. The B1G won outright in 2011, and tied in 2012 & 2013 (with Nebraska winning both their games :) ).

The series is Lopsided, with the ACC winning 10, to 3 for the B1G, with 2 ties. The ACC has won 86 individual games vs 61 for the B1G. Time for the B1G to start catching up! :P

Nebraska lost their first game in the series (2011 vs Wake Forest, 55-53) but the B1G won overall 8-4. Nebraska won both their games the next two years (2012 vs Wake Forest 79-63; 2013 vs Miami 60-49), Critical to B1G tying with the ACC and retaining possession of the trophy!

Go B1G!

GBR!
