Red Rum Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 I think he commits here once he visits. I still find this to be true. Well, he visited but hasn't committed yet. ajb5856 Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Any chance we get both Jordy and his brother Link? So the OWH article about the new assistant hire mentions that Jordy will possibly take another visit and it may be to a school who will also offer Link a scholarship as well. If we need Jordy so bad, do we have a reason not to tell Link he can tag along as well? I mean, for all we know that final scholarship could end up going unused again and we don't know how the Andrew white saga is going to play out either. We offered Link a couple years ago and he chose TCU. Would he not help us or at least be a body as we groom Jordy? I don't know what kind of attention Link is getting out of JUCO now. Quote
Swan88 Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 That idea seems a little bizarre. They play the same position. Why would they go to the same place? And compete against each other for playing time? And I don't think we actually offered Link before. Quote
ConkTrifecta3 Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Yeah i find that hard to believe that they would want to be at same school competing for same spot. Seems odd. Quote

Jacobsen, or would he be better at the 4? Quote
Swan88 Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Jacobson and Morrow will also play there--at least they both played there, exclusively, this last season. Quote
REDZONEDAN Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 I'm fine with MJ at 5, but Morrow should be at 4 imo. Quote
Swan88 Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 You may be fine with it, but Morrow didn't spend a single minute at anything but the 5 all of last year. Quote

ajb5856 Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Ok so Link continues to be a project. Can't find much on him so there can't be too much D1 interest. Montana State may be interested but that's all I find. With this being the case, there's no way we waste a scholarship, and it's very unlikely they go anywhere together unless Jordy plays down some levels. I don't know why he'd want to stunt his development. Quote
Jugular Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Was/is there any film on Link? He averaged a lot of rebounds and blocks this past season Quote
kldm64 Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 I'm fine with MJ at 5, but Morrow should be at 4 imo. Just curious why you think that? Morrow is more of a low post player only whereas Jacobson has more outside range to go along with his low post presence. Quote

To me, that makes Morrow a 5. Morrow needs to get his Serge Ibaka outside game going & he'll be able to play the stretch 4 some day. Block shots, D up, and hit a jumper now & then. To me, that makes Morrow a 5. Agreed. Morrow has only displayed the skill set of a 5 offensively. Where as Jacobson had shown he is more versatile. And those of you who say Jacobson was far from stellar at mid range to 3 pt shots just remember he was an undersized 18-19 year freshman who was probably exhausted from guarding 7 foot tall grown men night in and night out. Having to expend that much energy to play defense can tear down your offensive game.As for Morrow if he can develop a shot away from the basket that is consistent he will be really good. khoock Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 If we land Jordy, ideally he could play like 25 minutes a game but realistically I'd say 15-18 minutes will be more likely. So it would be nice to land another big to play the rest of the minutes. If not I think Jacobson gets the rest of the minutes at the 5 while McVeigh, Morrow, Horne, and possibly Roby battle it out for minutes at the 4. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 The other thing Morrow needs to do is develop his dribble-drive capability. If he would work on the things he needs to develop in order to be a more complete player, he has the potential to be a star. My fear is that he only likes working on the things he's already good at. To me, that makes Morrow a 5. Why? If Jordy is on the floor he is going to be the 5. I understand that MJ has more of an outside game than Morrow, but you certainly don't need the 4 to have one. I thought a lot of the talk was about getting MJ and Morrow to their more natural spots on the floor. In my eyes, Morrow would be better as the guy feeding off the 5. If you've got a Jordy out there shadowing the other teams big, then Morrow can eat his smaller man alive on the offensive glass as cleanup man. I don't know why you couldn't play both Jordy and Morrow together. REDZONEDAN 1 Quote

That's okay as not everyone is a shooter, and a 4 doesn't need to be a Stretch 4 to be effective. I think Jacobson and Morrow are both 4s, but the offense has to be run completely different for each of them as they have such dissimilar games from one another. Quote
hhcmatt Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 I don't know why you couldn't play both Jordy and Morrow together. It's two guys who probably shouldn't shoot more much more than 3 feet away from the basket at this point in their careers. If Jacobson can play either the 4 or the 5 then you can make it work. Quote
