Very nice stats... Those numbers have to be worth at least 3 pages from the OWH... After all, if Shatel and his merry band of crayton lovers at the OWH can put out a 18 page section on "The Second Coming" and his McFlopper teammates, T.P. should get some pub

I believe Andre Smith led the Big 8 in scoring during his 1980 POY season... Think about having a 6'6" Center dominate the way he did, it boggles the mind.

You're right.

Andre Smith led the Big 8 in conference scoring in 1981.  He wasn't the top scoring player in the Big 8 though.

No doubt TP had a great year.  I feel like he still has some areas of his game he can improve on, and from all accounts you hear that he's a tireless worker - Makes me real excited to see his game come next winter.

Is that the same Ricky guy that commented on the attendance at the women's tourament? If so he sure is passionate about his opinions....

I think Shakespeare must have envisioned Ricky when he penned, "It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound an fury, signifying nothing."

Also, he broke Aleks Maric's conference FT made record, regardless of whether or not conference tournament games count.

Thanks Dimes, I love Petteway's game but he still has some holes. Outside shooting, a mid-range game, and improved handles. This is nothing but speculation, but I think he's in Lincoln 2 more years...

He was also 4th in the league in Fouls and turnovers

More control of his emotional exuberance will help him quite a bit. Terran was the king of the frustration foul. He cuts that down, he's no longer a fouling machine. High volume shooters are notorious for turnovers due to the pressures of having to create. I can live with elevated turnovers from a scorer as long as the possessions are reasonably efficient. We're not used to having guys like this in the program, but we probably should get used to it. In the end, the team as a whole kept turnovers low, and that matters the most.

He had a phenomenal year, and we finished where we did because of that guy. With a stronger supporting cast, we probably won't have to live and die by the Terranosaurus next season.

TP and Shields, both have the skill sets, just need to remember one thing at all times on the offensive end - ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK!!!

It was truly amazing watching Terran and Shavon attack Frank Kaminsky during the Wisconsin game.  Those two were getting to the rim basically at will.  I wouldn't exactly call Shavon a "slasher" like Terran is.  But he somehow manages to get to the rim, partly because he's just so strong that people can't strip the ball from him on the way in.  But they both get there.  They both can draw a lot of fouls doing so.  And they both are terrific free throw shooters when they get fouled.

To have one guy who can do it is unusual for us.  To have two guys is unprecedented.  And since they are both also reasonably proficient from outside, they are match-up nightmares for opposing defenses.  Put your best lock-down defender on Petteway, but then who takes Shields?  And if Fuller can be that dead-eye shooter, then we're really going to test the help defense as well.  I mean, leave your guy to try to help on stopping penetration and you better be damn quick about recovering to close out the shooter because a kick to the wing or the corner for a 6'7" kid who can bury it ...  I'm just sayin' you better be quick to recover.
