“They did everything we scouted,” said Michigan State sophomore Gary Harris, who had 18 points on 5-for-15 shooting (1 for 7 from 3-point land). “They did the stuff you can’t scout. They played with energy, they played with toughness. They were relentless all night, and once they got going early it’s kind of hard to stop a team when they have confidence early in the game.”

“With any shooter, if they see their first couple of shots fall they’re going to feel good about themselves, and pretty much have a big night,” said Appling, who had two points and three rebounds in his return. “We weren’t able to prevent that from happening because we gave a shooter an open look the first possession of the game, and that’s pretty much what got them going. And from there, they took off.”

Thank you Walter!

Something that was icing on the cake is how we finished the game. Specifically, after Terran's 3 put us up by 5, we got a run out and a layup after MSU's miss to make it 56-49. Then, after forcing a miss on the next possession, we got another run-out with Walter getting fouled. Bottom line is we made them pay for not getting back and basically broke their back. I was in shock that we were able to do that to an MSU team on their floor. Frankly, it appeared that the MSU players were in shock that we didn't just fold when they cut it to 2. That was a great feeling.

Poor, poor MSU.

Here are some things that were tweeted from the big 10 conference call that Izzo said about the Huskers.

Tom Izzo today on Big Ten call: "Pitchford and Petteway made some shots that I wouldn’t shoot in a horse game."

Pitchford made a bunch of 3-pointers that were good looks. he's 6-10, he can get his shot off any time.

What about any of that is some circus shot you wouldn't shoot in Horse?

Let's just say... Izzo doesn't win a lot of games in Horse.

What a crock from ol' Izzy in his continued hissy-fit... whatever, Tom. Now, if he'd mention Rivers draining a 3, then that was definitely out of character for fearless Dave!

What was funny was Izzo complaining about the refs NOT calling fouls on his team so that he had to send in some scrubs with about 3 minutes left to commit a few quick fouls so that we'd be in the bonus in the event that, at the end of the game, they needed to foul us to stop the clock.

Had they still been at 2 fouls with :48 to play, a lot of time would have come off the clock while we played keep-away.

BTW, Monday set the record for the most unique viewers we've ever had since I started keeping track in November of 2011.

Do tell Dimes.

That was basically it.

Congrats!

Persistence usually has its rewards--sooner or later. It appears that HHC is poised for some huge traffic increases over the rest of this season--and beyond!
