So, we would have to knock off 6 teams from your schedule, as we have to play Creighton.  Where is it a requirement that we play creighton?

Let's see, both fan bases are usually energized by the game.  I do know it means more to Creighton than us, but it is a rivalry game, whether we want to admit it or not.  The Athletic Directors for both teams are not going to let us skip this game.

Plus the fact that they are in the MVC doesn't help if they lose. Now if Creighton hadn't jumped ship and they were playing each other that may or may help WSU.

WSU is going to make the NCAA, We are not.  that should cause to pause and look at what we need to change.

i understand that there are something that are out of our control, but we should try to contol the non-con as much as possible.  As far as return trips, so what. we are going to have to go on the road some time.  we have already beaten USC on thier floor,  UAB was a fluke, and due to the over time loss, our guy were tired and a little discuraged, home or a way we can still beat them.  Wyoming could be used as a home game, if we give promote it as the only time for western Nebraska to  see the husker play that season, it is not that far from nebraska.  TCU is the USC of the BiG 12,  we can beat them home and away.

Do you know how to use he spell check feature on here ? those squiggly   red lines mean you have misspellt something.

Yes, we do have to go on the road during the non conference, but we also have to have a minimum of 6 home games to make money.  One road game is going to be Creighton or the ACC/Big 10 Challenge.  So, you have one or two possible road games.  Of course we have to match-up one of those bigger schools who have a spot open for a road game the following year as they also need home games to make money.

Are you against us playing in the Diamondhead Classic next year.  Colorado, Wichita State, Hawaii, Ohio, and George Washington are the confirmed teams so far.  What crappy tournament can we go to next year that we would be guaranteed to win that isn't televised?  All the games except the 7th place game were on ESPNU or ESPN2.

And, with your great scheduling acumen (of which you want us to go to a tournament that doesn't even exist), we were going to make the tournament this year.  I think I will trust Miles, who used the RPI scheduling technique to get a team into the NCAA tournament (Colorado State) over someone who dreams up schedules on the internet.

I think many people misunderstand what I think the SCC was a failer.  let me explain,  the Non-con is the one part of the schedual we can control ,  If we go to the Sunbank classic, we could have possibly won the torunament,  With this team we had a legitimate shot.  Win a tournement and that says something. Now maybe it would not be against the  same level of talent as the SCC, but we would have won and then we could have scheduled some of SCC team to come to Lincoln, UAB and Gerogia at PBA any one?  control is the issue. If you don't think this is worth considering,  Just look at Wichata St.  look at their non-con  it is not a stellar resume and look at where they sit.  I am not saying that we should play only people in the 300+ range that won't do it, but playing teams in the top 25 when we know we can't beat them dosen't help either.  We can get the same RPI and SOS by schedule by doing things differrently.  Let me show you ,  Here is what I propose.

1.  Floridia gulf coast RPI 169

2. Georgia RPI 113

3.  Alcorn state RPI 330

4. UTEP RPI 77

5.  UAB RPI 174

6.  Arkansas St  RPI 191

7.  Tulane RPI 218

8.  Drake RPI 171

9.  Miami RPI 112

10. Valpo RPI 188

11.  TCU RPI 192

12. Rhode Island RPI 139

13. USC RPI 131

14. Wyoming RPI 104

Never mind that we aren't able to play this schedule as there are too many games.  You take off our three best games.  We play 3 top 20 teams in Miles' schedule.  Your top team is number 77 on the list, and our only top 100 game.  I guarantee you our RPI is better by playing Creighton, Cincinnati, and UMass than it is playing and beating any of those other teams outside of maybe UTEP.  BTW, the way this team played on the road most of the season, there is a good chance we lose to any of those teams on the road (of the teams we would play on the road) We jumped from 75 according to warren nolan to 69 for beating Northwestern on the road, and Northwestern has a 98 RPI.

The definition of insanity and Nebrasketball:  doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Uh, the guy we have now is not doing the same thing over and over; he actually is scheduling differently than we did in the 15 lost in the wilderness years, yet you kill him for that.  Could it make you a troll?  (and me a fool for responding again, I get that)

1. Most coaches do some house cleaning when they come aboard especially when taking over as horrible team as we had.

If he's a user then explain why David Rivers is still here?

Rivers has talent and does not cause problems. Now if i remember correctly there was an article on Rivers called "Odd man out". Miles did not start Rivers until he was forced to because of a loosing streak.

2. You like the scheduling and yet you don't?!?

I like the attitude, but the schedule give up to much control. the SCC gave up to much control to other, they dictate our fate.

He upgraded our schedule during the non-conference and it is paying off now.

there is no question we are playing a better non-con, no debate, the question is weather it is helping or hurting us. Exactly how is it paying off now???

3. Rather than going to a tournament that wouldn't have helped us one bit it was decided to focus on recruiting.

This is debatable, Exactly how would have going to a tournament hurt us??? We play more game, get more expouser, it helps with recuriting and help our player get noticed and Miles had a chance to get more wins and it boost the morale of the fan base. Exactly what is the Downside?? How did not going to tournament help us in recruiting?????

4. Miles was put in a bad situation here and that's all I'm going to say about this subject as it's already been discussed.

He knew what he was getting into when he got here.

We've been a horrible basketball team for more than a decade now

I am sorry to burst your bubble, but somebody has to say it. Do you really want to wait another 2 years to make the NIT? That is what happened under Barry. it was 4 years under him before we made post season. That cannot happen under Miles. You seem to think I have some great pull under Miles and he will actually listen to me. Answer me this what damage have I done to Miles or the program by posting my concerns? None as far a I have see. I care about this program too. I want them to be successful, BUT I see red flags, maybe it is something maybe it is nothing, but that is what I see. Sorry i can't jump on the band wagon yet. I take a Sober approach, not an Idealistic appoach. I want results. I will grade Miles on results, not what might happen, not on possiblities or hope, but results. Right now he has not gotten any results worth mentioning. Sorry you prove other wise.

I think you just like to argue with people.

That post just proves it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round. :D

Probably best to leave it at that before this thread becomes a mess.

I was asked about the DHC, concerning my recent comments about the SCC.  To be clear, I thought that Miles took the Team too early to the SCC.  I guess I am under the belief that we should win a tournament before we leave it.  I thought that SBC we could have won, then when we had something under our belts to take to a better tournament.  I think the DHC is the right tournament for us at the right time. Miles team will be experienced in his system and battled tested.  if you look at the DHC it is a good tournament it is a step up from the SBC and a step down from the SCC, right about were we need to play at, it would have been nice to come in as the reigning SBC champion.
