The script "Huskers" logo is no more, and I've got to say I'm not terribly disappointed to see it go.

 

That logo felt outdated 20 years ago.  The new one isn't great, but I'll take it.

Agreed 100 percent. It looks much better, much cleaner, much more up to date, yet classic.

 

It's kind of a ripoff from the Mississippi State logo, though.

Yes, it does look like the Mississippi State logo.  But I can live with it so long as it means the prior logo is gone.

One thing I don't like is that Nebraska goes to this serif block N, yet the football helmet, which people across the country recognize, uses the sans serif N. I wish they'd stick with the sans serif.

I don't think I have ever owned any Nebraska gear with the script "Huskers."  Oh, wait, I did have a white hat with the script on it.  I got it for Christmas and gave it to my son as soon as we got home.

 

I hate that logo.

LOL. I may have to update my wardrobe because the red shirt I have on now has NEBRSAKA  then below that is the block N with Huskers in script running through it.

I like my gear to be pretty simple.  My Husker hat is red with a white N.  Shirts/sweatshirts just have NEBRASKA across the chest, or something simple like that

 

And maybe that's why I like the new logo over the script...it's simpler.

That script Huskers logo over the 'N' was from 1993, when Bill Byrne came to NU.  The script Huskers alone must have appeared in '83...

 

And, the new logo similarities could be due to NU's association with adidas, which also supplies product for Mississippi State.  It's my theory, it may not be 100% accurate...

It is fairly weaksauce for athletic apparel. It'd be fine on some type of athletic department letterhead, business card, or some other type of "professional" use where boring and safe is pretty standard.

 

It honestly looks like it could have been created by a 7th grade art student (apologies to any 7th grade art students in the audience).

 

I liked the script, but understand the need for an update. I don't think this was the right choice.
