Listen, I said a long time ago when he didn't commit to us right away that we should just move on (as a fan base) and figure it wasn't going to happen.  Odds too long taking all these additional visits.  If it happens, I'll be happy and certainly take it.  But I've figured so long now that it wasn't going to happen that if he doesn't pick us, I'll roll with it.  Either way.

Our program doesn't die if Elbert Robinson chooses someone else.  Just like it didn't die when we didn't get Akoy Agau.

Yea I agree, but we need to start landing some of these higher profile players. I don't think we get this one, but will will surprise with someone in the spring.

I agree that it seems like OSU is the choice here. I'm just concerned about who's going to fill that spot. I'm not sure a guy like Zach Smith is the caliber of player we need to elevate into the top half of the conference, but maybe I'm wrong.

Things were looking a lot more promising a few weeks ago, but the landscape isn't nearly as interesting with Bolden and Robinson off the table. I'm still not sure what the plan is for Deng or how much they like him. Pinder's academic situation is really frustrating.

I dunno, wouldn't you consider Hammond one of "these higher profile players"?  Webster?  Fuller?

I think we're already well down the path towards a significant talent upgrade over what Doc was bringing in.

I get what you're saying, about taking the next step...but I think that maybe this year, Hammond is that next step.

Pavelka tweeted yesterday that Agau is buried on the depth chart at Louisville. With Pitino's history of "cutting" players, maybe he'll come back home.

I'm hoping Harriman can work his magic and find a good prospect out there somewhere. It's a long time until the Spring Signing Period.

I kinda doubt that Kent has any idea what is going on at Louisville.  He has a hard enough time getting the names right for guys that are actually on Nebraska's roster.

Looking at the CBS Sports/247 composite rankings, it's a little unfair to Doc to say that the upgrade has been "significant", so far.  Webster should be better than his #213 ranking, and the recruiting trends look nice for Miles, but the rankings for some of the 2011-2014 guys don't show that a huge change has yet occurred.  If Elbert shocks the recruiting world, "significant talent upgrade" would be appropriate.

146- Hammond

169- Parker

173- Fuller

179- Rivers

186- Hawkins

213- Webster

227- Shields

This tweet is interesting. It was posted before he visited LSU or OSU.

Come to think of it, I remember this tweet. It doesn't mean that he didn't change his mind. I also think that his parents and coach played a bigger role in his recruiting more than people stated. If that's the case then maybe we have more of a chance. Is it Tuesday yet?

Tuesday morning he is going to be in the shower and suddenly he will get a feeling that he needs to become a Husker and get the ball rolling here.

He will announce us as where he is going to go to school and tOSU will be all "how did this happen?"

And we will be like "things happen"

And tOSU will be like all "We calling the NCAA"

And we will be like "Go ahead, we don't care"

And then the NCAA will find it is all on the up and up and we go to the Elite 8.

And there will be much rejoicing in Nebraska.

Couldn't help chuckling at the combination of the foregoing and this string of posts on the Louisville "Scout" board.  The posting string ends with, "What about Akoy?"

I honestly don't put a lot of weight in the 247 composite rankings, quite frankly.  I know it gives you some means of comparison, but I would go with what I see.  And I trust what I see with our recruiting class this year.  In the scrimmage thread, I think I made the comment that this recruiting class is the best we've had in a very long time.  I'd go back to the Nee years.  The Venson Hamilton/Tyron Lue class.  No doubt in my mind this is the best class we've had this century.  And they're all Miles recruits.  And Hammond is the first Rivals 150 guy we've ever had.  So, I'm comfortable saying there's been a significant upgrade in recruiting.

LOL.  What's the point in waiting to announce a school and then make public statements that clearly lean one way.

I've never understood making people wait.  I guess I'm impatient.

He probably realized he's been tweeting a lot about OSU lately, so he threw out a Nebraska tweet to make things interesting.

Or maybe he's messing with both us and OSU, and will end up picking LSU.

Regardless I'm glad he's getting it over with, so then we can focus on this year's team
