trickey Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 http://247sports.com/Season/2014-Basketball/RecruitRankings?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool Bolden is already up to #24 overall (and a 5 star) in the new 247 rankings. He hasn't even started his season with Findlay yet. As I said, this guy is going to blow up and have all of the elite basketball programs after him. This is why I said I believe he is out of our league. If we get a visit out of him I would be pumped, but I doubt it will happen. Have to hope the connection between his dad and Harriman is huge. I just don't see him in the cards for us when he will basically have his pick of schools across the country. It's up to Harriman. We were somehow Tai's first choice before he even visited campus, so it's possible Harriman could pull off the same thing with Bolden. It may be harder as there appears to be more connections than there were with Tia's recruitment.. The article hugh42 posted earlier noted: "His father handles all of the recruiting business, so Jonah's not exactly sure what schools are interested. He doesn't have any particular colleges he favors, but he did tell me he likes the University of Michigan. Considering his father is originally from Flint and even played at the same high school as Glen Rice (Northwestern), it makes sense Jonah's a fan of the Maize and Blue." - See more at: http://prospect-central.blogspot.com/2013/05/jonah-bolden-class-of-2015s-australian.html#.UgxZqW33NhB Not impossible, but a challenge. Swan88 Posted August 16, 2013 Report Posted August 16, 2013 All this is amazing! A national commentator recently mentioned something to the effect that Nebrasketball coaches are creating "quite a stir" on the recruiting trail. The result appears to be a great deal of significant interest from many high-quality players--so much so that we are having to turn away players who, hitherto, would have been considered home runs. The result is that Nebrasketball coaches appear to now have the luxury of slow-playing excellent players in hopes of reeling-in a great player. So many quality players . . . so few spots! Who would've thought this could happen? Quote

Norm Peterson Posted August 18, 2013 Report Posted August 18, 2013 Love the video. His low post game could use some polish and he obviously prefers facing the basket on offense. Loves playing the passing lanes on defense and is quite active, very long, and gets in on plays instead of spectating like some bigs you sometimes see. And his jumper carries the Norm Seal of Approval. I would say this would be a very good get for us. But is he 2014 or 2015? Video says 2015. Nebrasketballer 1 Quote

Norm Peterson Posted August 19, 2013 Report Posted August 19, 2013 Count me in on the Bolden-Gilmore-Hammond trifecta thing. Good springboard into 2015, which should be a very large class and very important as well. Nebrasketballer 1 Quote
*Deleted Account* Posted August 25, 2013 Report Posted August 25, 2013 Now I see why Purdue tried to hire Harriman. Its an old sales trick. Hire the guy with the connections you need, or in this case, player. I am convinced minnesota hired jacobson to get the minnesota big man as well but its not likely to work for them. Miles is rocking it right now and other coaches in the Big 10 know it. Truthfully, I think they are scared of Nebraska's potential becoming a reality. Quote
Cookie Belcher Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 This is apparently from Scouts recruiting update. * Since arriving to Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep from Australia, there's been no shortage of interest coming in for four-star 2014 power forward Jonah Bolden. The likely destination for him as of now is Michigan. Bolden grew up a Wolverines fan and Michigan has done a good job of recruiting him since he arrived to Findlay. Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted September 20, 2013 Author Report Posted September 20, 2013 Tim Miles @CoachMiles4m I think they're taking me to the Moon. It's huge tonight over Las Vegas. #Home soon #MajorTom pic.twitter.com/2zW5bmBNlt assuming this means he was in town to talk to Bolden before he makes his cuts. Quote
a0t0w0 Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 Vegas Brownies. I too thought I was on the moon...ended up on some cheap Eiffel Tower remake. Quote
FredsSlacks Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 Dang wow. I guess i'm glad it happened now instead of 3 months from now. Quote

Norm Peterson Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 If this is his real final list, then it doesn't say much for Miles' last trip to Vegas. Quote
Hooper Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 Incredibly disappointing, especially when some of the teams on the list are programs like Auburn, Vandy and Oregon State. So much for Harriman's connection with his father. Also, for those wondering about the legitimacy of the list, it came from the man himself. Jonah Bolden @Jonahbolden32 28m Blessed to announce I have cut my college list to: UCLA, Michigan, UNLV, Louisville, SMU, LSU, Arizona, Oregon State, Auburn, Vanderbilt. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 Well, maybe we made his top fifty Quote
Norm Peterson Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 Honestly? And this isn't sour grapes, but after watching that game video I dug up of Australia vs. Africa from the Adidas Nations tourney, I was skeptical about his ranking in the Rivals top 150. Let's see how he does against American prep school competition before we get too down about not landing him. He might not be in that Rivals 150 for very long. Quote

I was really not impressed with the kid on that video. Not saying it was jus a bad game for him but color me less than impressed. Quote
