Last time we played them they blew us out. this time it was pretty competitive most of the way. I was really impressed considering it's the 3rd game in a row. I hope we don't get the dreaded 8 or 9 seed. 10 would be better.

That's what I've been thinking over the last couple of days.  Probably better to be a 10 seed.  Most of the time there's not a huge difference between 7-10 seeds, so an 'upset' isn't so unachievable - then would rather face a 2 seed instead of a 1 seed.

We just don’t match up with the Bruins.  Third game in three days wore on us but very proud of the effort. Rebounding killed us and Jacquez was on tonight. Hoping for a decent placement in NCAA.

I have to admit I didn't follow the women's team very closely this year. Not sure why. Britt Prince stole my heart tonight. I plan to follow them much more next year and in the tournament.

Very respectable performance tonight.   Playing our best basketball at the right time of year.  Rebounding and some untimely and unforced turnovers killed us.   But that was a damn good team we played.

Britt Prince is the future. She is so smooth. My favorite was when UCLA hedged her to only go left, and she drains a triple in their face. GO BRITT! GBR

After losing Potts & Weidner early on, it's a really nice accomplishment to have EARNED a 3rd NCAA in the past 4 seasons. GBR

No secret here: Lauren Betts creates problems!  UCLA obviously has plenty of height, length and enough athleticism to be a difficult matchup for most any team.  That said, I thought our execution more often than not was quite good. Probably needed to play near perfect basketball to beat them, which obviously is very difficult regardless of opponent.  No shame in their game- I'm proud of their effort! Now on to the NCAAs. GBR!

I really can't understand the love for Mich St.  This has them as a 6 seed.  Their OOC slate was pretty much garbage - went 2-1 against the 3 teams with a pulse, just happened to beat most of the patsies by a bunch of points - whoop-de-doo.  Had 4 semi-notable wins in conference (Iowa {early when they weren't playing that well}, @Mich, @Illinois, Indiana).  Played LA teams tough on the road, but lost both.  Doesn't add up.

I only caught a portion of the game tonight due to conflicts.   But I liked what I saw.

They won by 11 and outscored us by 12 on the charity stripe, this isn't exactly science.  The problem I have, why did the refs let them play physical under the basket and not let us play physical.  Anyway it was a nice effort.

Betts.....such an athlete.... in the sense she is so huge and strong, but her moves are so natural and smooth. Obviously one of the best women "bigs" playing the college game.

It would take a twin to be competitive against her. Refs helped her a few times....she does have a tendency to make a slight double hop before shooting.

We could have focused more on a double team, but may not have made any difference.

 

But was impressed with our overall efforts....... played aggressive and tough. Not afraid of them this time. We haven't been hesitant or nervous most of last several games....it's almost like a kick a** switch was flipped, and it's go time.  Really fun to watch.

I think AuroranHusker meant it'd be nice to have a point guard that was consistently good at shooting the mid-range can shoot the three can run the offense really well.

UCLA is absolutely destroying Ohio State today. Up by 36 midway through the third quarter. Makes NU's performance yesterday look all that more impressive. Also fun to see an Ohio State team get annihilated!

I felt if we could have slipped past UCLA yesterday, we could have beaten OSU (unless fatigue set in).  Because OSU looks like donkey doo-doo right now.

I was also glad OSU beat Iowa in rather heartbreaking fashion the day prior. And then OSU getting smoked was even better. It cuts like a knife.
