hhcmatt Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 https://www.theringer.com/nba/2024/4/30/24145054/point-guard-field-guide-2024-nba-playoffs Found this article in the Ringer today and it got me thinking about Nebraska's PG situation as we've arguably not had one since Cam Mack (or have we?) and we're all of a sudden turning into an offense that should have a 'true' PG on the court at all times next season. Curious what archetypes our previous PGs have been and what we think we're getting in Ullis and Worster. Quote

I think/hope the biggest thing we are getting with Ullis/Worster is the ability for someone to run the offense competently, make good decisions, not turn the ball over and allow others on the team (i.e. Brice Williams or a JLaw type) to play their natural positions. That last part I think is key and could really unlock the next level for this offense and allow Brice to reach his full ceiling. Quote
Handy Johnson Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 With Worcester’s Size I wouldn’t be surprised to see he & Ullis on the Court at the same time, especially with our Taller Wing Players. Quote

I think that really depends on where Ullis is as a 3pt shooter because otherwise you're trying to run a Fred Hoiberg offense with at least two of the guys bricking 3s ReidStag, Handy Johnson and thrasher31 1 2 Quote

I really don't like all the extra sauce in that Worcestershire's game, he could tame it down a bit Swan88, Montana_85 F, Chuck Taylor and 3 others 1 4 1 Quote

It's Bear & Burton's W Sauce. I was at Helping U Barbeque last week and I picked up a bottle for Seth. He likes to cook with Worcestershire sauce. It's thicker than the store bought version, but it tastes great. Can't wait to try it in a bloody Mary. Now, back to your regularly scheduled program. basketballjones Posted April 30 Report Posted April 30 What we have been missing, for quite some time, is someone who can truly manipulate a ball screen and/or hand off action. Call that whatever you want? Point guard, lead guard, scoring guard, doesn’t matter. Haven’t had one. Handy Johnson and CanadianHusker 2 Quote
Handy Johnson Posted May 1 Report Posted May 1 With a Proven PG on the Floor all the time, that should allow us to push the tempo & get more looks to our shooters & more possessions overall. Vinny 1 Quote

Lawrence tried doing this last year with mixed results. I think he would have been better at it this year if we didn’t find a portal PG and he stayed, but he did what he could with the little time he had to prepare last year. I’ll always appreciate him for that. And I look forward to what we’ll look like with point guards playing point guard this year too. Handy Johnson 1 Quote
