I know they won like 4-5 consecutive games to end the year, but I still wouldn’t be feeling good about my draw when it includes 3 straight teams I haven’t beaten this year.

I was thinking about going up to Minneapolis for the tournament and dropping however much for tickets and hotel.

 

But then I thought I could spend the same amount of money on new golf clubs and just watch the game on TV.

N'western as a significantly bigger 'dog to win the whole thing than Wisconsin or Mich St seems strange to me.

 

Not sure why you can't bet on NU at Warhorse on this particular wager, since the games are outside the state. However, I've seen NU in the +700 to +900 range at other books. Of course, if the "unquoted team" wins the tournament, they'll keep all the bets.  Lots of NU fans in the Warhorse ownership this week.

Don't know if this has been posted or talked about, but why in the hell does Northwestern get a better time draw than us and Illinois as the 4 seed? They would have approximately 24 hours of rest if they get the W. If anything, Illinois should get that, and we play the 5:30 game.

Has Nebraska ever played on Saturday in the Big Ten tournament? They’ve lost Friday both times they had the double bye.

It’s because they’re on the Purdue side of the bracket.  The games are (and have always been) played in order of how they appear on the bracket starting with the 1 seeds in the first game.

 

1V8/9 plays first which is why 4V5/6 would be next.

Our state basketball tournaments run like this as well.  Sometimes a class will have the 1V8 and 4V5 in the 9/10:45 slots and the other half of the bracket in the late evening slots which leads to less rest time for the 2/3 seeds.

Had not realized that Fred hasn't won a B1G tourney game here

In years past I'd miss a game because in the BTT because of my son playing a baseball game. This year, if we make the championship I'll miss that as I'm going to be in GI with my son as he's competing in NE USA HS State wrestling tournament  (3/17). He also has another tournament the following weekend in Kearney at Heartland HS State wrestling tournament (3/23). Had to make a deal with my wife for her to take him to Heartland if we end up playing the Thur/Sat schedule. No way I'm missing our second round game, and yes we will be playing a second round game.

It's been a bit of a dumpster fire at the BTT for Hoiberg's first 4 seasons. When Freddy was coaching at Iowa St, they kicked butt in the Big 12 tournament!!
