Popular Post Huskerpapa Posted February 26, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted February 26, 2023 Excellent article. For those that opined about his five game absence at the beginning of the season, the rumors are dispelled here. Heck of a man and player! He has been a pleasure to watch and will be missed on multiple levels. https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/how-nebraskas-derrick-walker-got-out-of-the-dark-place-and-began-playing-his-best/article_47d9c093-3635-5a00-a965-93f4b26d8c89.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=email&utm_campaign=user-share Vinny, busticket, BjoeHusker and 9 others 2 9 1 Quote
Handy Johnson Posted February 26, 2023 Report Posted February 26, 2023 It takes a Big MAN to admit that he needed help in such a public way, but this Team clearly wouldn’t be where it is now without him. millerhusker, BjoeHusker, cornfed24-7 and 3 others 6 Quote
jimmykc Posted February 26, 2023 Report Posted February 26, 2023 Amie Just did a great job on this lead article in the LJS. It shows Derrick, Fred, and the whole basketball program at NU are class acts. Kudos to everyone involved lang, Red Don, Handy Johnson and 4 others 7 Quote

Faux Mike Peltz Posted February 27, 2023 Report Posted February 27, 2023 Yeah, lots of opinions/rumors at the beginning of the year. Glad the real story came out and proud that he opened up about it. He didn’t have to, but he did. Mental health is no joke and it’s very real. Wish nothing but the best for him in his future millerhusker and BjoeHusker 2 Quote

And, if haven't watched the media interview with Derrick Walker, Sam Griesel, and Emmanuel Bandoumel, go & watch it. That's the epitome of team-focused basketball. Those 3 are leaving their legacy as an imprint on the NU culture. Wish Sam & Manny could have been here for more than one year. Glad D-Walk came back & rehabbed himself well enough in time to make a big impact this year. Edited February 27, 2023 by AuroranHusker Handy Johnson, BjoeHusker, busticket and 1 other 2 2 Quote

I had high hopes that the newcomers would help flip our culture but it has gone even better than I ever could have hoped for. I think this is the kind of story Sam Griesel was hoping for in his one year here. What a great group of seniors! Edited February 27, 2023 by busticket Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted February 27, 2023 Report Posted February 27, 2023 Yeah first email response to this article was from a troll saying stuff about him still in school at 25. And that he was in the military and lost at 21, blah, blah, blah. I really am starting to hate other people. BigTate 1 Quote
