I am concerned that there is very little hype about this game from the average fan. We just knocked off a top ten team on the road, and we have number 4 coming to town.

If we want to have a shot tomorrow, the crowd has to play a real part. Spread the word.

If any of you reading this are in the red zone, you are where it starts.

This is a game we can win and I expect we will if Sam is healthy.  I don't think Purdue is as good as they are perceived and have performed to this point.  We need to attack them like we are the better team from the jump.  Another situation where they have to look us in the eye and we have grown men playing out there.

Edey, with an eagle eye view: Look at the size of Griesel's shoulders!

The next step in the defensive scheme is not closing out on all shooters the same way.  We have to start identifying who we are not letting shoot threes when we are in scramble mode out of doubles and who is an acceptable option to launch.  Not saying we want to just leave guys wide open on purpose, but be more aware of who cannot be left open.

They have been selectively running guys off the line. For example, against creighton, we really didn’t close out on Kaluma at all. And he went 0-6 from three. Worked out well. I’m not sure Purdue has anyone on the perimeter you can do that to, though.

They don't. The guys who aren't shooting well are historically good shooters. Really just about making them uncomfortable in general.

That is a good point on Kaluma.  I probably was a bit strong in my wording suggesting that they are not.  I just need to see a bigger sample of it being the case.  Extremely impressed with the defense so far.  I was confident we would be better than the masses thought, due to improved defense.  Never thought we would see this kind of effort and wisdom blended together this well though.

Quite certain you know Purdue 100 times better than me until my busy season ends soon.  Do they have very many dangerous guys off the bounce when we close out?  Ivey was a big problem in this regard, but traditionally they have lacked that to an extent.

Maybe they need to start doing this at the women's games.  Student turn out at the men's games isn't an issue.

Oh man, in the games so far this year the student section, by in large, has been a ghost town.

Actually I haven't watched any Purdue this year but it doesn't appear that they have anyone like that.

Do we know why Mason Gillis didn’t play in their last game? Is he playing today? He’s kind of the perfect player to matchup with Griesel. Can match Sam’s size, strength and physicality. Great defender both on the perimeter and in the post.
