Had Kentucky beat - but KY hit a half court shot at the buzzer to tie it.   Going to OT.    Will be hard for the Pirates to overcome that - particularly as they have had guys foul out.

Would be really good for the Huskers for SH to get the win though.

Mississippi state ended up making like 18 3s

19. Freaking ridiculous. I know 3s and an absurd volume of them have been a "thing" for a while now, but is it from the nba, or was college the origin? Regardless, its frickin nuts. I love threes as much as anyone else, but I dont think it's a healthy game or good basketball when a team takes nearly 30 3s in college (like Nebraska did tonight). Very rarely will it pay off, most of the time it'll hurt you.

See: the last couple of games by this one kid peters on miss state. Insanity. Must be a specialist. 90% of his shots are from downtown, and 80% of those go in...Screenshot-20181209-071130-the-Score.jpg

Check out Max Hooper from Oakland.  During the 15-16 season he took 257 shots from the field. All of them 3s. Shot 45.5% and averaged almost 11 a game

the math on 3 pt shots is pretty unassailable. but there's a hitch. It requires the ability to make them, first. I think it' like 35 percent as a team that you have to hit to make them worth doing in bulk. but if that's your upside percentage, you have to be more choosy.

Nebraska's at .355 for the year, after last night's game. The Huskers finished at .346 in 2017-2018. The difference is almost all Glynn, plus some Nana. Everybody else is performing slightly to a great deal (Roby) worse.

Individuals:

  1. Watson .472 (.291 last year)
  2. Akenten .417 (.250 last year on only 8 attempts)
  3. Copeland .364 (.369 last year)
  4. Allen .344 (.354 last year)
  5. Palmer .302 (.309 last year)
  6. Roby .176 (.405 last year)

That written, I think we now all have a little more confidence in Palmer's stroke, and we know Roby also has an upside from deep. All should, and do, feel confident outside the Arc de Triomphe.

those number are pretty solid, albeit borderline. as long as we adapt to nights were they're not falling, I'm good with it. The 3 erved us well yesterday, but the Jays are a great team to huck open 3s against.

If roby can get it together we should be able to crack 37 percent as a team which would be incredible for us

This just isn't correct IMO.  If you were correct, the trends wouldn't continue towards it.

maybe you're right.  in fact, you're probably right. But I don't like it. Old man me gets pretty grumpy (and im not even 30 yet)

I embrace the 3. specialists are even fine. But it's not a fun viewing experience for me to see guys jacking up shots from inefficient areas of the court near half court, Lamelo ball style. ugh??
