HuskerBB Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 Had Kentucky beat - but KY hit a half court shot at the buzzer to tie it. Going to OT. Will be hard for the Pirates to overcome that - particularly as they have had guys foul out. Would be really good for the Huskers for SH to get the win though. tcp 1 Quote
jayschool Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 SH up by two with 2:30 left in OT. Quote
B-town hoopsfan Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 They got a chance w 40 seconds to go. Could be huge for us and for seton hall Quote
jayschool Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 SH down one with 24.9 left. UK at the line for two. Quote
jayschool Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 OK. That's the last damn team in blue I'm rooting for today, unless you count Illinois, which is more navy than real blue. AuroranHusker 1 Quote
HuskerBB Posted December 8, 2018 Author Report Posted December 8, 2018 Pirates Win !! Love seeing KY lose - even better when it helps Nebraska Quote
B-town hoopsfan Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 Might be a season altering win for the pirates. Which is big for our resume as well Bugeaters1 1 Quote
Huskerpapa Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 Wait...didn't Nebraska beat Seton Hall? Quote
tcp Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 I would've loved this even if we didn't play Seton Hall. Anytime Corruptucky loses is a good day. Bugeaters1 1 Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 (edited) So Seton Hall wins in OT. Man that has to help us. Edited December 8, 2018 by Bugeaters1 HolyBobpilgrimage 1 Quote
brfrad Posted December 8, 2018 Report Posted December 8, 2018 Clemson with a chance to help us, but Mississippi State is 18 - 29 from 3. Quote

I know 3s and an absurd volume of them have been a "thing" for a while now, but is it from the nba, or was college the origin? Regardless, its frickin nuts. I love threes as much as anyone else, but I dont think it's a healthy game or good basketball when a team takes nearly 30 3s in college (like Nebraska did tonight). Very rarely will it pay off, most of the time it'll hurt you. See: the last couple of games by this one kid peters on miss state. Insanity. Must be a specialist. 90% of his shots are from downtown, and 80% of those go in... Norm Peterson 1 Quote

Shot 45.5% and averaged almost 11 a game HolyBobpilgrimage 1 Quote
tcp Posted December 9, 2018 Report Posted December 9, 2018 the math on 3 pt shots is pretty unassailable. but there's a hitch. It requires the ability to make them, first. I think it' like 35 percent as a team that you have to hit to make them worth doing in bulk. but if that's your upside percentage, you have to be more choosy. jayschool 1 Quote

Nebraska's at .355 for the year, after last night's game. The Huskers finished at .346 in 2017-2018. The difference is almost all Glynn, plus some Nana. Everybody else is performing slightly to a great deal (Roby) worse. Individuals: Watson .472 (.291 last year) Akenten .417 (.250 last year on only 8 attempts) Copeland .364 (.369 last year) Allen .344 (.354 last year) Palmer .302 (.309 last year) Roby .176 (.405 last year) That written, I think we now all have a little more confidence in Palmer's stroke, and we know Roby also has an upside from deep. All should, and do, feel confident outside the Arc de Triomphe. Edited December 9, 2018 by jayschool tcp 1 Quote
tcp Posted December 10, 2018 Report Posted December 10, 2018 those number are pretty solid, albeit borderline. as long as we adapt to nights were they're not falling, I'm good with it. The 3 erved us well yesterday, but the Jays are a great team to huck open 3s against. Quote

Old man me gets pretty grumpy (and im not even 30 yet) I embrace the 3. specialists are even fine. But it's not a fun viewing experience for me to see guys jacking up shots from inefficient areas of the court near half court, Lamelo ball style. ugh Quote
49r Posted December 10, 2018 Report Posted December 10, 2018 I've said for years the college 3 point line is just way WAY too close. Quote
