You know it isn't totally out of the question that we are locked in. Our body of work is essentially complete (with the exception of BC continuing to win). In most years the #4 team in the Big 10 with our record would be locked in right now.  If we met their eye test and our overall resume is good enough to get in we may already be considered in.  Just a matter of seeding (last 4 vs bye etc).  We can always hope!

I would love to believe that.  I really would.  However, last night I went through and put 28 teams in red that I think are the 28 teams the committee voted in.  Who on there that isn't strike do you think we would be ahead of right now.  The only shots I would see... and they are veryyyyyyy outside shot.... are Rhode Island, TCU, Mizzery, and Arkansas.

Here is how I see things as of right now.  Teams in green we are ahead of, teams in yellow it could go either way, teams in red are in ahead of us.  I have striked through the automatic bids.  So the ones in red is who I think the committee has as the 28 currently in.

A-10-- Davidson, St. Bonny, Rhode Island.  St. Bonny we need to lose as early as possible and we need Rhody to win it all.

American-- Houston, Wichita State, Cincy.  We could put Houston in the yellow with a first game loss, but I would say a verryyyyyy redish yellow.

ACC-- Syracuse, Notre Dame, NCST, FSU, Louisville, Duke, Clemson, Miami, Virginia, North Carolina, VATECH, FSU and NCST are probably red.  ND and Louisville move to red with wins tomorrow.

Big 12-- Iowa State, KSU, Baylor, Texas, OU, OSU, KU, TTU, WV, TCU.  I really feel like this is the toss up conference that could make or break us.  I just don't know how the committee is viewing all of them.  I know we are ahead of ISU though.  :D

Big 10- Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State, Purdue, Michigan State.

Big East-- Marquette, Providence, Butler, Creighton, Nova, Seaton Hall, Xavier.  Butler and Providence are probably more red than green.  Marquette moves to yellow with a win tonight.

Pac 12-- Washington, Oregon, Stanford, Colorado UCLA, Utah, USC, ASU, Arizona.  Another question mark.  Arguable worse than the Big 10.  I very much think we should be ahead of ASU right now, but think the committee sees them more of a yellow.

SEC- MSU, LSU, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, A&M, Arkansas, MIzzery, Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida.  The winner of Bama and A&M probably stays above us.  The loser is probably below us.

WCC- St. Mary's, Gonzaga

The only way you could buy it would be with the caveat that our season is already complete (the resume isn't changing) and some of those others are still playing.  I agree with your premise though.  Its very unlikely,

This is interesting.  This guy is basically the Director of Media Relations for the NCAA Tournament.  If I'm reading correctly what he is saying below, Nebraska is among 33 teams competing for the last 8 spots in the tournament.  Put on your lucky socks and underwear and don't take them off until Sunday night!

someone want to take a crack at figuring out the 28 teams?

  • Top two lines are seeded as of now.  "Many of those teams are still playing in their conference tournament."

  • Teams that lost of note- Washington- "People put a lot of stock into what happens this week.  Really it's luck of the draw."  "Games this week are 1-3 of 30+"

  • Syracuse and Oklahoma-- "No one games is going to put someone in the field or take them out.  It is part of their record now though."

  • Today's games- Pac 12-- "With a win, gives most teams an opportunity to play a quality opponent.  No one single game is going to affect."

  • Big 12 Today-- "Paying an awful lot attention to Big 12.  Several teams are in NCAA and their going to be high seeded."  "Doesn't matter if their is 8 or 9 teams in.  If they measure up as one of the 36 best teams in the country they are in."

  • Alabama and A&M-- "Two teams that are on the under consideration board."  "Chance for a quality win for one of them."

  • Notre Dame and Duke-- "Great win for Notre Dame last night.  Every game is key for a team like them.  In a very unusual situation with Coleman.  Committee taking a close look at Notre Dame right now."

  • "Next phase after 28 teams.  Committee is going to continue seeding today.  Don't think there will be much selection today.  33 teams on the under consideration board.  10 or so teams are done.  23 or so are still playing.  Don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves.  So many games in play today and tomorrow that selecting will have to wait."

So if the top two lines have been seeded, that means KU not only will be missing its center today against Oklahoma State, the Jayhawks now have no motivation to win the conference tournament. Might as well put OSU in.

The top two lines can change.  Bruce did say last night that the top two lines can change depending on outcomes of games today to Sunday.

Late to the party, but I'm sorry...OU should be out.  I fully agree it's a full season for body of work but current play should also be a big factor.  A team that finish 4-11 in their last 15 games heading into the tournament should be out.

Yep!  This, this, and so much this.

0-9 in road games since 12/30/17.

0-1 in neutral games since 12/30/17.

In that time span, they have losses to OSU twice, Texas twice, ISU, and KSU.

The best win since 1/23/18???  Probably a tie between KSU and Baylor.  The only other win was ISU.

And to add to the Oklahoma beat down....

Quad 1 Home--- 3-0.      Overall Home--- 13-2

Quad 1 Road--- 2-7         Overall Road--- 2-9

Quad 1 Neutral--- 1-1       Overall Neutral--- 3-2

Talk about can't win on the road.

The talk down here in OK today is if OU is in and OSU is out it will be a travesty.

Almost everyone I hear (even the biggest Sooner fans) don't think they deserve to be in.  We really need KU to show up today.  I have a bad feeling they lose though and get OSU in.  It'd be great if they both missed out.

I have heard the same from many Sooners.  Some of them said "I don't even want to be in.  We are going to get embarrassed."

If OU gets in, OSU better get in.  However, neither should be in right now.

Alright ass hat.  That just pisses me off even more.  It's one thing to say that we are out, but to call us out like that is pathetic.  I hope we get in.  Husker fans will blast him on twitter.  I hope Miles gets the chance to see him person to person.

My only ? is how the hell do reporters care enough to go on a conference call with this moron.  Their SOR is in the top 40 which says it's not just the Big 10 name carrying Nebraska love.  This from a guy who has no clue about basketball.

There's absolutely no reason to call any university out unless you have an agenda to make a point to the committee. We get it, Lunardi. You hate us and don't respect us. Cool.

Exactly - who is he talking to here? The committee? They certainly aren't listening, I would hope.

And if he was trying to maintain any sense of credibility, he would hedge his bets at least a little bit, so he doesn't look like a bigger ass Sunday night if we somehow get in. It's easy enough to say, "I don't think they'll make it," list off a few stats and be done with it. And why get so worked up about a team that you say has no chance? Why waste so much time discussing them?

Instead, he's making it personal. So he's 100% trolling NU fans. He knows we'll talk about him, respond to him, etc. He's trying to stir up eyeballs on the web site, more Twitter responses, etc. This is all a huge troll job. Wouldn't surprise me if he has something in his contract that X number of social media impressions equal a financial bonus for him.

He may be right that we don't make it, but he's going over the top for a reason. I'm going to do my part and try to ignore him the rest of the week, and not give him the attention he wants. It'll be tough because that toupee is God awful. Almost like staring at a car crash, you just can't look away.

But I'm going to try, dammit!

I mean, we get it. We're probably not in. The majority of experts on our own network spent 3 days in NYC crushing us, after all, and if they don't have our backs, I don't know why Lunardi would.

But he's going over the top for a reason.
