Minimally it looks like Lue will be here for a football game...we'll see if anything else beyond that happens

http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=211027699

Am I missing something? The article doesn't ever say Lue has or will be invited to a home football game, does it? The writer just asks if you can imagine Lue being introduced at Memorial Stadium. Right?

Correct. I'd imagine NU is planning to make it happen, though. Nebraska isn't going to waste an opportunity to honor Lue & his Cavs. Maybe some of the Cavs can join in, that'd be cool too.

Nolan Richardson probably thinks his jersey should be up.  Not sure who else besides Lue turned 40 minutes of hell into hell for Arkansas.  Unfortunately Nolan was able to outwit Nee and slow things down the 2nd half.

Unfortunately, that type of thing was all too common during Nee's tenure at DONU.

Lue was invited to join the football team?!?  I knew that Strick tried out for a day, then realized that he would be signing an NBA deal later that year (and relegated his football aspirations, wisely).

My dad was a football referee for a long time.  He always said the most talented defensive player he ever saw play was Strick...

York is basically a puff piece writer who resides at the stadium so he has enough access to not have to imagine us calling Lue and leaving a voicemail about being one of the many people we honor at a football game on a yearly basis.

I am not a fan of LB as a writer about NU athletics in general and NU basketball in specific. He needlessly went out of his way here to create a problem no one, probably least of all Lue, knew existed. And his goal in this article was not to somehow help Lue but to hit the Huskers. BTW, have you EVER read a similar kind of article from him about Creighton basketball? His nose often seems bent out of joint that the Huskers have a better working relationship with the LJS than with him. For example, when Miles was hired the LJS was reporting on stuff based on a clear connection to knowledgeable sources while LB was still grasping for straws and LB is still trying to make them pay.

Whether Lue should have his jersey hung or not is a separate matter but they sure shouldn't do it because LB became a hitman on a day when he couldn't come up with anything else to say.

lue is probably one of the most respected figures in the nba right now, and i'm guessing 99% of nba fans have no idea he went to Nebraska. His jersey should absolutely be in the rafters.

How and when to honor Nebraska Basketball great Tyronn Lue created quite a storm on Twitter yesterday. Get the details in today's Hot Reads...

I'm missing something here.  I looked at the article and not don't I see anything in the story involving a storm on twitter...I don't even see a story involving a light breeze on twitter.  Where are you seeing this?

That was the headline I copied & pasted from HAIL VARSITY.

All in an attempt to drive traffic to hailvarsity.com, of course. ;)

I don't get the article at all.  Was anyone clamoring to retire Lue's number before the championship?  I wasn't.

i think the point of the article was that lue deserves more attention from the university. He rarely comes back to Nebraska despite being one of the best players to ever play here and hugely successful in the nba.
