  1. Back to your original point tho, the people that get all “Bent Out of Shape” about the Basketball Program DON’T follow it anyway. If they did, they would know this level of futility & disarray is Old Hat to most of us, & we’ll eventually Soldier On regardless…

    Fouling Up 3?

He has a lifetime contract, I believe. So, likely not too 'hot'...

I hate to bring up Grant McCasland, but he's killing it at Texas Tech and the only reason I point this out is because it shows it can be done. He seems to have that "it" factor. He knows how to win. My concern with this team is that they seem to have a lot more in common with Fred's first three teams than his last two. And if last year is the high-water mark, that's a problem. He can still turn it around (maybe not for this season) but it's a big hill to climb.

  14. I also read that College Soccer might be going to a longer season and aligning under the US Soccer Federation. If so, a mens soccer team would be interesting as well.

Agreed! Playing with a lack of confidence right now and definitely was capable of beating some of the teams that we just lost to. Hoiberg a helluva coach though so let’s just hope he can turn this thing around for a late run. #GBR Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. Oh I think he's back next year and I think we are going to be watching a team that doesn't box out, is full of slow plodders, guys who struggle to shoot and turn the ball over. Outside of last year, it's pretty much been wash, lather, rinse, and repeat since Fred has been here.

  17. 6th highest attendance in the Big Ten (even amongst newcomers), #15 in the nation for ticket attendance. Rank School G Attendance Average 15. Nebraska 19 277,338 14,597 I don't think people are aware of this, nor do they care. This is why they're not qualified to run an athletic department.

  18. Well that's a whole other issue. These ADs who come, spend spend spend, and then leave is just exhausting and quite irresponsible.

  19. There are a lot of opinions out there right now, many of them probably from people who watch 2 or 3 Nebraska basketball games all year, if that. Lots of people calling for Fred to be fired too. He is under contract through 2028-29 and we would owe him somewhere around $18-20 million. In an era where athletes are about to start being paid by the university...and a year after being named Coach of the Year. Miles was owed about $2.5 million. There's no way, unless we lose every game, players quit, and someone offers a ton of money to buy him out. In which case if they cared that much they'd probably already have given it to 1890.

  21. Find a way to win the next one. Then do it again. It's not an impossible task. That winning mindset has to start with effort, attitude, and positive body language from the squad, and ultimately, it takes 1 win to potentially turn this around.

    OT: A Sad Day

My favorite from Major League. "For the Indians, 1 run on 1 hit. That's all we got 1 god damn hit. You can't say god damn on the air. Don't worry no one's listening anyway."

  23. Bryce had a 4-year contract with Charlotte that was set to expire after this season. But he's currently on a two-way contract with the Blazers. So yes in that no team is contractually obligated to him next year. This year is EXTREMELY important for Bryce. A player can only be designated as a two-way guy during his first four seasons, so he will not be eligible for that going forward. Very much a make-or-break year for him in the league. His performance got him called-up to the Blazers again, but last night he was back with Rip City (where he dropped 37 points). A two-way player is eligible for the active roster no more than 50 NBA games per season. I'm not sure how many games he's been on the active roster this season (there were a handful earlier in the year, probably < 10) but the Blazers have 58 games remaining. Hopefully that means he will be on the active roster a decent amount for the rest of the year. Blazers get blown-out a lot, so should be some chances for him to show-off in garbage minutes and hopefully land a contract somewhere.
