    Bryce McGowens is N

"Two and through" has a nice rhyme going for it. Let's make that a thing.

  5. I think we pretty much know who the starters are. As far as reserves in the rotation, Wilhelm appears to be the top front court sub. I can’t see a scenario where Tominaga doesn’t play. Edwards and Wilcher gotta play, right? Edwards is extremely athletic and has great skills. Wilcher is another shooter and we are recruiting his superstar brother. That puts us at 9, which is a large number. That leaves Kobe, Andre and Lakes on the outside looking in. I think any of those three have the ability to be contributors if the need arises. Man we look stacked. Inexperienced, but very talented roster now. It will be interesting to see how well this post ages because rarely does the rotation I expect to see preseason end up that way in reality.

  6. Adrian Martinez is playing the best of any QB in the Big 10, IMO.

  7. Only posting here right now because I've thrown some shade throughout this season. This looks like a different team. And it has everything to do with our offensive line and our receivers. I don't remember the last time I've got to enjoy a blowout game like this against a P5 team in awhile.

The first part of the video is Friday's opening night women's basket ball. Couldn't find anything else. The rest is cheerleaders and mens BBall

  10. What I’m most excited about is there probably won’t be a night that someone isn’t cooking from deep. There’s just too many good shooters on the roster/offensive skill to go team-cold anymore. Keon, CJ, Bryce, Trey, Kobe, and maybe Verge can all get it going from deep as well. But the best pure strokes I saw were Keisei and Wilhelm. I’d probably put Lat in the latter category too but he didn’t play last night. Another hot take: Keon is a better athlete than Bryce—stronger and more explosive and maybe a better 3pt shooter. I don’t think he’s a better player as Bryce has pretty good handles, but don’t sleep on that kid. He’s high energy. Overall I was way more impressed with the newcomers than I thought I would be.

  11. Rothstein is actually a bit tepid in his praise. He thinks Verge and the two McGowens brothers are All-Conference caliber as a backcourt, but like us, he's not sure how we'll defend and rebound. His rotation of Verge, the two McGowens, Mayen and Walker followed by Keisei, CJ and Keon leaves out ... frickin' Kobe Webster, Eduardo Andre and Wilhelm "The Flying Dutchman" Breidenbach, whom he also praises. I mean, if that doesn't scream "Hey, this squad is deeper than your typical Husker team" I don't know what does. If you trim the rotation to 8 players, it's going to leave some quality guys on the bench not getting minutes.

    Oh snap!

Norm, those folks leaving early aren't going to Gate. Only true fans go there for postgame beers and discussion. The leave early folks are going as fast as they can to their car to get home in time for the 10:00 news.

  13. Common misuse of the direct-address comma isn't a problem usually. Everybody knows what "Happy Birthday Bob" and "Go Big Red" mean, even if they should be "Happy Birthday, Bob" and "Go, Big Red." The problem comes with sentences such as "Let's eat, Grandma!" and "Let's eat Grandma!" or a sign I once saw at Macy's in Boulder — "Welcome Back Students!" The hell with you, Macy's. I'm not welcoming back students. The town was better without them.
