Maybe we made a trade deal with New Mexico.3 points -
Pure fantasy saves a Husker fan. It certainly does. While Kezo is still a long shot, this scenario differs from the Okafor visit in that we were Kezo's first offer. And if we get him here for a visit it will be because he is actually considering attending school here. We were not Okafor's first offer (not even close) and although he visited here, he was never seriously considering us. We are actually in a position to land players like this now. Not that we will, but we are in a position. Back when Okafor visited, just because his homies were, it was like, oh my god I can't believe we have this type of player stepping foot on campus.2 points

Not trying to take anything away from Harriman and what he's meant to the university. He has given a ton. Thanks to him and his family. Also trying to do this without sounding all sour grapes....but I'd like to examine what exactly Harriman has provided in terms or recruits. And I need everybody's help because I can't remember who he has been the lead recruiter for besides Tai, Pinder, and now McVeigh. Obviously we all know about his recruitment of foreign players particularly in Australia. This is an area that being Nebraska and having the history we have as a program we thought we could make inroads and steal a few good players. Has this really panned out? There are really good foreign players out there but you can certainly do well in the American college game without them. And with this next class coming in, we may have proven that we can recruit the high caliber American born player as well. We also heard that Harriman had exceptionally strong ties to the east a few states, particularly Indiana. Has that tie given us any players? I'm seriously asking because I can't remember. So, as much as this sucks, and as much as he will be missed (thank you Harriman family), is there any reason we think Miles won't be able to upgrade here? Again, no disrespect whatsoever to Coach Harriman. He's put in the work.2 points

But Next season is the pivotal season for the Tim Miles era.... Regardless what situation we are in right now for every basketball coach in the MAJOR CONFERENCE level yr 4 in your tenure is the make or break season rather your trending up or on the hot seat in season 5. It is what it is fellas.... I have been Tim Miles guy from day one but what has happened in 13 months since the lost Baylor is really disappointing and disturbing. How have we fallen so fast??? How do you go from winning 10 out of 12 and 4th in the toughest conference in College Basketball to 13 wins "13" no way does that happen to anybody. Now were in a situation where we need to relay on 3 or 4 Freshmen to start or play 25 mins in year 4 that should never happen. WE ARE NOT KENTUCKY that's way too much pressure on those kids coming in the play that amount minutes in the BIG TEN. Plus we are hoping that AW3 produces 18-19pts per game no way once again too much pressure for a guy that has not played that much. After looking over the last three years under Miles the first two recruiting classes really hurt Miles he made several mistakes and missed out on several Bigs over the years and now it really hurting us. (Mike Edwards, Deng Deng, Isaac Haas, Akoy Agau (Twice). Lets face it guys Jacob Hammond is still not ready I really don't know if he ever will be. What I just don't understand is how with all these misses in a big man that teams like Rutgers, Penn St, Northwestern..ETC end up with decent not great big man. I would kill for the Northwestern guy or I would love to have at least one those 7ft penn st guys. Wouldn't you??? Miles has needed a true center since day one he has yet to find one. Leslee Smith (No Knees) average at best, Moses No hands no real threat at all, Vucetic never played, Ubel Average. My intention is not to bash Miles at all I am just really worried we are slipping away into Barry Collier years and the goal is NIT. I dont want that for this program. The Good news is the Recruiting class from fall signing is very exciting and alot of potential for the future and Miles has got a good staff so we move on and hope that the freshmen coming in this year Gel and do the unexpected and reach the NCAA or at least the NIT. GOOOO BIIIIG REEEEED!!!!1 point -

As you can see by my username, I'm a lobo fan who lives in Omaha. Harriman to New Mexico actually makes a lot a sense if your a New Mexico fan. New Mexico has a ton of history when it comes to recruiting Australia beginning with Luc Longley. New Mexico also picked up Cameron Bairstow who is on the Chicago Bulls roster and Hugh Greenwood also from Australia. New Mexico is so connected to Australia that they played the Australian national anthem on senior night this past season. New Mexico is now going hard after 5-star Australian recruit Isaac Humphries. I'm sure hiring Harriman is another angle to get Humphries to sign with New Mexico.1 point -
I can tell you at times if I see something I think is questionable I can at any time hide it, investigate, and then decide if it's coming back. If I see something that is questionable and potentially damaging to the program, staff, or players I'm definitely going to zap it. I'm not putting time and effort into this site for it to be a big embarrassment for the U. If someone feels the need to post something along these lines, please run it by me first.1 point

What topics are appropriate for discussion here on the haymarket hardwood board? If a post is regarding something about a coach or player but the topic is about "off-court" happenings is the post disallowed? I keep seeing posts about a certain topic appear and then disappear immediately. Pretty much everything on here is based on opinion or speculation or rumor. I know we need to be respectful and use appropriate language but what rumors are we allowed to speculate and opine about and which are off limits?1 point

Pains me to say it but New Mexico has had and still has a much better BB program than NU. Don't know about the money being paid to Harriman.1 point -
Editted to 2016. Also, he just decommited from Chris Harriman's new school1 point

Interesting timing. I would guess Miles knew this was coming and they agreed to hold off until getting McVeigh inked.1 point

If you completely deregulate college basketball - pay athletes, etc - I believe shoe companies will run the sport. They'll find the players, develop the players and slot the players.1 point

I really hope he pans out because I want the student section to yell Aussie, Ausssie, Aussie and the fans to yell Oi, Oi,Oi when he hits a three. IT WOULD BE... WAIT FOR IT... WAITTTT... EPIC!1 point -
This sucks. But after having about 30 minutes to digest, this has to be more about opportunity than money, right? Nebraska can obviously match and exceed any offer out there but Harriman obviously sees some career benefit to doing this. And that's what it's all about. This is what college coaching is. Coaches work their way up the ladder. They move at calculated, opportune times to get in position to have their chance. Harriman will be a head coach. He'll only be at New Mexico a season or two. It's somebody else's turn for a chance at assistant now. We will see. I don't see this as telling for Miles at all in terms of his career here. We've had several move in and out for Miles at Nebraska so far. He'll find another good one. I'll give out a Norm exercise here. When thinking of the assistants Miles has currently, and to make yourself feel better about them...just think about who Doc had.0 points
