That time of year again, folks. Let's crank up the old carrousel and try not to get dizzy. Ron "Fang" Mitchell is out at Coppin State. So long to one of the best nicknames in the coaching ranks.

With a nickname like that, he won't be out of work long.

Well, he was let go in 2014. It's possible Jimmy REALLY hasn't moved on from our NCAA tourney run.

Hard to process that, Jimmy.  I remember Fang well from the Old Ameritas Classic days.  Good guy.

Wow, I had Fang mixed up with Bruiser. Sort of indicates how much the nickname influences the fame. Or maybe I was still dizzy from the darn merry go round ride. Jimmy (the Geek).

I thought I heard Central Florida fired their coach as well?

 

I believe Scott Frost will be coaching both football & hoops at UCF. ;)

Hmmm.  I know he knows football for sure.  Not sure about his hoops acumen.

 

Although, as I recall, Frost did have a really close friend in college who played on the women's hoops team, so ...
