More info on Vegas 16 - http://www.sfgate.com/sports/article/Still-another-postseason-college-hoops-tourney-6844808.php

It's probably going to be below the NIT as it's pay to play...I suppose it depends on if the NIT road teams lose money or not.

It's probably going to be above the CBI as travelling to Vegas >> the stigma of playing in the CBI.

Playing in Las Vegas will make it “more like a bowl-game experience,” Albaugh said. “One D-1 coach told us it would be more like a reward trip for his team rather than a consolation prize.”

Which of these tournaments will have our games on tv-I mean real cable tv and not some sort of streaming computer/Ebay tv which I either can't get or can't make work. That would make a difference in which one I would prefer to be invited to. Of course, the NCAA or NIT would be my real preferences.

Vegas-16 will be mostly televised on CBS Sports Network. The 1st round doesn't appear to be on TV anywhere, but the remainder of the event will be on CBSSN.

This is the part of the Sipple column that I reacted to the strongest:

Let's face it, many of us viewed this season with next season in mind. And, for the most part, we should like what we've seen, especially from those freshmen, but also from Andrew White and a much-improved Tai Webster. Anton Gill, the transfer from Louisville, could be another dynamic scorer.

Get this: A freshman has led Nebraska in scoring, rebounding or assists in each of the past five games.

Freshmen have accounted for more than 40 percent of NU's minutes in league play. Even so, the Huskers' scoring average is nearly 12 points higher than last year's average.

Especially the first sentence.  Very true for me.  Were our freshmen going to be legit?  The kind of legit freshmen who could help us make some noise as sophomores?  That's what I was looking to see.  I thought the early returns looked promising.  I've been somewhat disappointed in Ed Morrow, but that could just be his foot that's been holding him back.  The other freshmen have met or exceeded my hopes.

Yup...have been hoping he'd look at least like Dereck Pardon lite at some point.

Wasn't his knee been bothering him too? Since he was spending too much time in the weight room? I think it's too small of a sample size compared to the other freshmen. He's best on garbage points and off the pick and roll and no one really passes off the pick and roll except Watson on occasion.

No team ever won 4 in 4 days...

It's been done several times...

I have a hard time believe one can win 5 in 5

...and Uconn did this in the 2011 Big East tourney.

Not only that, UConn won the NCAA Championship that season: 11 straight victories in the post-season. Never been done, never will be done again.
