Red Don Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Saw a similar thread in a football forum & thought it could be even more appropriate in Basketball (since we have so many newcomers compared to football). So, who do you think: Morrow? Watson, White? McVeigh? Someone else? And Why? Quote
AuroranHusker Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Glynn Watson is a baller. I think he'll transform the Nebrasketball offense as a legit B1G PG. Cazzie22 and Red Don 2 Quote

Because Aurora is on to something, just don't know if it will be this season as far as biggest impact immediately. Red Don 1 Quote
basketballjones Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Morrow. Just because.I would say as far as immediate impact goes, absolutely (if he's healthy). He basically has to, we're too thin at the post position so he has to play. Jacobsen will play too. Red Don 1 Quote
Hooper Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Glynn Watson. He wasn't recruited to sit on the bench while Benny Parker takes all of his minutes. He's the first true PG this team has had in years and he'll make an immediate impact. His presence on the court will benefit everyone because he'll get them looks that Benny wouldn't. 49r Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 I'm going to go with the Morrow kid too. I just get a kind of Shavon-esque vibe about him and his approach to life. I like the cut of that kid's jib, in other words. Red Don 1 Quote
ajb5856 Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Put me down for Team Edward For as much as everyone thinks Watson will be a stud, Ed will be right there with him. As some are saying, Watson is going to run the team as PG (if not right away then eventually) but Ed comes in right away to fill a void, a position of need, and his ability to clean things up underneath will net him an 8 and 5-type line night in and night out starting night number one. Red Rum Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Put me down for Team Edward I'm with Team Jacob(son) Ok not really. I feel its gonna be the Morrow kid. Almost because we need him to be the one that makes the greatest impact. If Watson has some growing pains, we still have Benny or Tai to fill in the void or even Shavon or AW3, it's not like their offense dictates that the point must initiate the offense. hhcmatt, Red Don and jdostal 3 Quote
King James Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 I sure hope Morrow doesn't have to defend the 5 on defense.... I'm gonna vote for the PG. They touch the ball the most, so it is easier to make an impact. Red Don 1 Quote
Huskerpapa Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 If healthy...Morrow. He is a must hit. Red Don 1 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 Watson, but they all need to make major contributions. Red Don 1 Quote

bball23 Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 White and it won't even be close. This. He's the most physically and mentally ready to play. He has a year in the system, albeit practice last year. I really think White may have a big year for NU. Red Don 1 Quote
Huskerpapa Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 Didn't know that White counted as a latest recruit Red Don 1 Quote
hhcmatt Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 Didn't know that White counted as a latest recruit I also was thinking the same but if you look back at the first post, it does mention White. Red Don 1 Quote
Fullbacksympathy Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 White, Morrow, Jacobson, Watson... in that order. Red Don 1 Quote
HB Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 Didn't know that White counted as a latest recruit I also was thinking the same but if you look back at the first post, it does mention White. "The latest recruit" was the lead-in. "Newcomer" was the subject.... Red Don 1 Quote

"The latest recruit" was the lead-in. "Newcomer" was the subject.... I must have missed the 'newcomer' part of it as well. Oh well... However you slice it, I'll take the immediate impact of AW-III. I like the sound of that; hopefully 'Immediate impact' becomes a reality this winter for Andrew White #3. GBR! Red Don 1 Quote
Red Don Posted August 4, 2015 Author Report Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) Excellent! Excellent! (Thumbnail) Greenies to All - I can't find even one curmudgeon deserving a Red (even HB and Norm hasn't weighed-in yet! ) I'm expecting B1G things from all the newcomers, but I think maybe Andrew White III will provide the most immediate impact; He's a Shooter. Dicemanhusker Posted August 6, 2015 Report Posted August 6, 2015 Jack McVeigh is gonna be a good player as well. I was very impressed watching film of him this summer. Offensively he's a face the basket type, but defensively he's also a rim protector. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
rahusker Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Josh Lanasa, wait, he isn't listed on the roster. What happened? Quote
hhcmatt Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Josh Lanasa, wait, he isn't listed on the roster. What happened? Good eye. He was on there yesterday. His bio page no longer has an image. Hopefully it wasn't something that's going to make the public record Quote
