Not to be negative here, but if the Hawks keep the other guy or leave the spot open, what next? Does he go to Europe, to the scout squad, or the NBA "B" league or whatever they call it? Hopefully he will catch on and eventually make some serious money from his basketball skills. Terran deserves it.

He will be highly coveted by someone. He could easily play overseas, which I would say is the best decision for him if he doesn't make the Hawks or get picked up by a team of the Hawks cut him. The D League is also an easy option for him but financially it's the worst place to play. The only good thing of the D League is he can easily get called up any time whereas playing elsewhere he'd have to pay a buyout of his contract to leave for the NBA midseason.

4) Battle for the last roster spot. The Hawks have 13 guaranteed contracts, plus Mike Muscala. That presumably leaves one open roster spot, which the Hawks could choose to fill with one of their Training Camp invites: Lamar Patterson, Terran Petteway, DeQuan Jones, Edgar Sosa or Earl Barron.

When the old home town first got Cable, they only sports that were on, were on TBS. So... I watched ALOT of Hawks Basketball as a kid, The Dan Roundfield, John Drew, Eddie Johnson era. I'm glad TP is on a team I have fond memories of, and I have faith in his game that he'll grab that last roster spot and  blow up.

Just read a "Bleacher Report" that indicated that TP was one of five free agents believed to have an exceptional chance at making the roster.  The article described his "issues" yet his upside seemed to outweigh those issues.

It looks like there's a little more competition now: http://www.nba.com/hawks/news/hawks-add-arsalan-kazemi-training-camp-roster

From the Kazemi article:

He will wear No. 5.

If I know TP -- I don't, but I did say hello to him and get a photo when I saw him and the rest of the team at the airport last December in route to Hawaii -- this is only going to serve to motivate him more.

TP:  "Oh, you want to take my college number?  That's coo.  I just took your paycheck, homey."

For what it's worth, the guy was incredibly humble and nice.  I think he even responded, "yes, sir!" when I asked if I could get a quick selfie with him.

I met TP on 2 different occasions and he could NOT have been nicer.  I always cringe when fans judge him.  The guy went out of his way to take a picture with my son, and the sign the ball he had.  When we said "Thanks" to him he said "You are very welcome sir."  Then went on to give my son another high five.

TP will go down as one of my favorite Huskers of all time.  I know some fans want to judge him because he wears his emotions on his sleeves, but I can tell you, their is no fan in this State pulling for TP to make an NBA roster more than I am.

IIRC, Kazemi had some game in college; I would imagine he'll likely compete with other 'bigs' for a roster spot at the post position.

Kazemi was a nice player for the Ducks his only season here. He definitely played bigger than 6'7". He was also very steady and unflappable and was the leader from the beginning of practice that season. I'd like to see him have some success in the NBA but I hope it's not at the expense of TP. Luckily they don't play the same position.
