It seems that EVERYONE (evidenced by the Jay Bilas comments) dislikes Karl Hess (his name just makes me think of Nazis). Could someone explain how he survives in his profession? Since coaches can't critique refs without suffering consequences, who does evaluate them and how is that done? How do they get selected for the games they work? But, mostly, how do you get rid of egomaniacal refs who want to make the game about THEM? Perhaps someone needs to run a betting sting operation at him.

The problem last night wasn't so much Hess as it was Mike Roberts. He was the catalyst for the insane block/charge call and he made the horrible call for Terran's fifth.

Reminiscent of the baffling call of the 1994 Missouri game.

Refresh me on this one.  Old age has set in.

Basically refs are like a union.  Once you get to where you are it would take quite a bit of on the floor stuff to get rid of him.

Seems like the 'Body of Evidence' is building!

Sorry, didn't intend to -1 ya, hal.

I recall that B.S. that allowed Mizzou to keep their undefeated regular season (but NU got the Tigers in the '94 BIg 8 tourney to win it all!!).
