AuroranHusker Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 So, why is Lee Barfknecht just now writing about KBW?!? Obviously, he's not as "dialed in" as he purports to be... Lee, that is. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 Goodness, if by some chance if we can get both this kid and Jordy...well...WOW. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted February 23, 2016 Author Report Posted February 23, 2016 By the way, he's currently ... 37th in the NJCAA in points per game at 17.4 50th in the NJCAA in FG% at 58.9% 1st in the NJCAA in rebounds per game at 13.9 1st in the NJCAA in blocks per game at 6 He's also 8/26 (30.8%) on 3 pointers. hal9000 Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 Discussion about big men and whether Leslee will return or not got me thinking about the possibility of adding a different juco big to be available next year and, with our improved stature since we signed Leslee, maybe getting in on one with a little more upside than Leslee had. So, I looked at the NJCAA website for their current stat leaders and found an intriguing prospect ... except he's not a '15 recruit. He'd be a 2016 recruit. He's from England (apparently), was committed to Montana State for the '14 class, but didn't qualify and has now gone the juco route. And for a juco freshman, he is KILLING it. Kavell Bigby-Williams. Averages 15 ppg, 12.2 bds and 3.5 blocks. According to Verbal Commits, he's 6'10" and 215#. http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/kavell-bigby-Williams And check the video ... Edited: I changed the thread title. I don't know if we're after this kid. I don't know if he would even be interested if we did go after him. But if we're in the market for a 2016 juco, this one looks like a better prospect than the one we reportedly offered out of Australia by way of Sunrise Christian and then Hutch CC. Check out his block at :58; Were they playing a junior high team? He certainly looks athletic. Certainly knows what to do with the ball when he gets it point blank. Probably doesn't have a "back to the basket" move as such. But man I really like the athleticism. Quote
hhcmatt Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 So, why is Lee Barfknecht just now writing about KBW?!? Because Nebraska hasn't talked to him until very recently. Quote

Fullbacksympathy Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 Holy crap this guy could make us a terror. Quote
Huskerone Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 Going against some tough competition, Texas, Iowa State, Okie State, plus other high majors, plus getting in on him late. I'm not sure about this one. Getting him here somehow would not suck however. We probably need to get both this guy and Jordy. We'll need some depth. The B1G is bring in plenty of size according to Lee B's article today. Recruiting leap year needed!! I'm sure Coach Miles and staff are giving it their all. GBR!! Quote
Norm Peterson Posted April 7, 2016 Author Report Posted April 7, 2016 C'mon, Lee, you're killing me here. Quote
bigFRED Posted April 8, 2016 Report Posted April 8, 2016 Holy crap, screw anybody else. Bring in this guy! Quote
MitchMcGaryMunchies Posted April 8, 2016 Report Posted April 8, 2016 I guess he's 100% Oregon on 247 http://www.oregonlive.com/recruiting/index.ssf/2016/03/kavell_bigby-williams_4-star_j.html "Out of all the schools Oregon is the my No. 1 choice on my list," he said. But then the clouds parted, revealing the smallest ray of sunshine... "I'm pretty close to my decision, as I kind of know where I want to go, but other schools are still coming into the mix and contacting me, so I'm (going to) sit down with my people in the next couple of weeks and see where I'm at," he said. ShortDust Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 Ended up committing to Oregon. No surprise. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted April 21, 2017 Author Report Posted April 21, 2017 Oooh, get him. We could use him. Grad transfer, I presume? Since he only has 1 year of eligibility left. If he has to sit out a year, nvrmnd. mwm89 1 Quote

lang Posted April 22, 2017 Report Posted April 22, 2017 Looks like he'd have to sit a year to me. He finished juco career and was on the market last year this time and played his Jr year this year. Quote
