An article in The Oregonian newspaper on Hallice Cooke's impending transfer makes this work ethic observation about him: "Cooke, a three-star product of New Jersey's famed St. Anthony High School, regularly earned praise from teammates and coaches for his tireless work ethic." Sounds like the kind of person Tim Miles would try to recruit.

BR tweeted out about freshman John Egbunu from USF transferring.

Will be recruited by the world.  Hard to imagine Nebraska having much of a shot.

Au contrair, mon ami [that's all the French I know, and had to look it up on the internet to boot]. Anyway, what we are seeing on the potential transfer front, I suggest, is the fruit of an incredible season that produced not only Coach of the year accolades but also an explosion into prominence of former no-body transfers. Players who want to be the next Petteway and the next Pitchford are taking notice and are giving Nebrasketball a hard look like never before (literally). A four-star like Ugbunu is a perfect example [he hails from Nigeria, by the way!]. All of this is for real.

I agree with Natural.  None of the others that we know Nebraska has been contacting even made the final list.  If they were wanting all of the above then Nu would already have a couple on board.

There are only three spots available with some very specific needs and some very specific targets, it seems. Making contacts and building relationships with more than three players and their coaches and families will have many collateral benefits. Not making a final, or even preliminary, list on ten different players that have been contacted is inconsequential.

Well, the women's team isn't getting them all, either, but they're getting looks from significantly better players than in the past and they've landed commits from a few.  They have 4 girls in the ESPN hoopgirls top 100 rankings for 2014 and none of them are from Nebraska.  There were probably a lot more girls on that list that they didn't get.  So, the fact that we didn't get a commit from a kid in the past doesn't mean we aren't in the running for this one now.  And, yes, I suspect he'll be highly sought-after.

He would be a great addition to Nebraska's roster. He was a 4-Star, Rivals150 player, #11 Center in the country coming out of highschool.

http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-John-Egbunu-137603

And actually, both Ayegba and Egbunu were ranked 4-Star Rivals 150 Centers coming out of high school. And im also pretty sure that they were both ranked in the #5-#15 range as far as their position ranking.

If Nebraska could get both Ayegba and Egbunu, that would be an incredible upgrade of roster talent at the Center position. Miles has already made very significant upgrades at the 2, 3, and 4 spots (and I believe that Webster and Smith will end up being a significant upgrade at the PG spot)...so this kind of upgrade at the Center position could be enough to get Nebraska over the next hump...

Likely wont happen, but it's the time of year for dreaming...

Anybody know much more on the Chiles kid?  Is he going to take a visit does anybody know?

Was a tweet out there a few days ago that he was visiting Auburn this past weekend:

Kris ‏@kriso_27 Apr 18

#Auburn Basketball: Ian Chiles will be visiting this weekend, transfer from IUPUI, has great scoring ability.

I'm a little concerned that nobody else seems to be recruiting Ayegba.  Graduate transfers with his size don't grow on trees.  You'd think if he has any talent, that a lot of teams would be after him.

I'm sure others have been talking to him, which is why he has a decision to make.

Doesn't look like we're actively pursuing him.

Jeff Goodman @GoodmanESPN 19m

IUPUI transfer Ian Chiles has visited Auburn, and is looking at Maryland, Tennessee, South Florida and Western Kentucky.

Thanks to GTA in the "Moses Ayegaba is N" thread on the Haymarket Hardwood:

"Interesting nugget from BR...

Ayegba said his relationship with Hunter played a key role in him coming to Nebraska. Indiana, Boston College, Miami and Long Beach State also showed interest in Ayegba as a transfer, he said."

One notable addition since Goodman's list has been updated is
