MichHusker Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Wow...not surprised with vooch and Wagner, but very surprised to see Hawkins go. Always hate to lose a promising young player Quote
Nebrasketballer Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 I'm very surprised to see Hawkins go too. I wonder if that means Nebraska has a couple of guys lined up to come in... Quote
GATA Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Sorry to see Hawkins go. I thought he had the potential to be a nice ball handler and shooter in the future. Best of luck to all three! Quote
The Coach Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Hopefully Hawkins leaving means that we are in on somebody better. It also gives us more space to add a late transfer. Quote
doc1394 Posted April 2, 2014 Author Report Posted April 2, 2014 Not surprised by any of them. Just surprised that so many people are leaving. This Hawkins one has been in the works since before Christmas. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 I am happy for them, but I'm going to miss Hawkins! I wish them well. Quote
ajb5856 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Wow. Best of luck to these guys. So...after Hammond and Tarin Smith come on board we have 3 more spots to fill?!?!! Plenty of room to bring in a couple real difference makers. If Miles doesn't already have an assistant coach tied to a transfer, he should after this weekend. Quote
MichHusker Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 One can only hope that we have some players lined up to come in which is why Hawkins left. The longer we go without hearing anything though, the less likely I think that would be Quote
Shuttlesworth Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Good luck to Sergej, Nate, and Tim! Quote
GATA Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Projected depth chart now is...? PG - Webster, Parker, Smith SG - Petteway, Webster SF - Shields, Petteway, Fuller PF - Smith, Rivers, Fuller C - Pitchford, Hammond Quote
Ron Mexico Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Projected depth chart now is...? PG - Webster, Parker, Smith SG - Petteway, Webster SF - Shields, Petteway, Fuller PF - Smith, Rivers, Fuller C - Pitchford, Hammond Pitchford as a C and Smith as a SF? Do we have another Smith on the roster that plays the PG that I'm not aware of? This would be my projected depth chart: PG - Webster, Parker SG - Petteway, Webster SF - Shields, Petteway, Fuller PF - Pitchford, Rivers, Fuller C - Smith,Pitchford, Hammond Quote
TheGov21 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Not surprised by any of this. Sergej wasn't developing and likely wasn't going to play. Wagner came hoping to get a chance to carve a niche into the team but that bad ankle facture set him back and he'll likely try at a lower level. Unlike most, I'm not surprised by Hawkins. Don't like seeing a lot of roster turnover and wish him luck. But I was never really impressed with him. Yeah he hit a big three vs Ohio State (I think that was the game) but he looked out of place in my opinion. But I never saw somebody that would challenge to start. Best of luck to him. Quote
Donkey Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Hawkins' father (@CoachRobHawkins) tweeted during the NCAA game against Baylor a few remarks about Nate not playing and alluding to Nate being a good match up against the Baylor zone. I wonder if playing time was an issue with Nate. jaimes2000 and TheGov21 2 Quote

doc1394 Posted April 2, 2014 Author Report Posted April 2, 2014 Miles better get after Biggs and give him some study tips. We need him to graduate. Quote

Marv Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 This Hawkins one has been in the works since before Christmas. Care to expand on this? If you are privy to this information I assume you have an idea of where he lands? Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 I think this comes from his tweet around Christmas about decisions he had to make. Then some knew his girlfriend is at ATM (I think) and then he friended or started following some different coaches from Texas around then. So maybe no hard facts, but... I am always sorry to see somebody leave, but having done it during my college football playing days I understand. for me it was the best thing I ever did, hope,it,works out for these guys too. Quote
hhcmatt Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 And you guys thought the offseason was going to be boring greymonkey, AuroranHusker, Shuttlesworth and 1 other 4 Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Nate also has a longtime gf in Texas. Im sure he thought being away wouldnt be so hard but if you watch his tweeting habits he talks about her quite often. Silverbacked1 and hhcmatt 2 Quote
