So why is he leaving BYU if his eligibility hasn't expired? I take he must have graduated from BYU otherwise he wouldn't be eligible to play right away.

He is graduating this spring.

That's what I thought but that still doesn't explain why he's transferring if he has another year of eligibility left?

Some guys just want a change of scenery.  Maybe for him he wants to find a team that can make a run in the NCAA tournament.  Maybe he doesnt want to live by the codes anymore at BYU and wants to have a little fun before his college career is over.

This seems to be a good take - http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865600006/Brad-Rock-BYUs-Carlino-unpredictable-to-the-end.html

Well this quote doesn't make Nebraska's chances look good. Not as long as Shields and/or Petteway are here

"Now he’s presumably leaving to spend his senior season where he can be the man."

Is this Bo Spencer part 2?

Regardless of where he ends up his will be story worth following. There are going to be very few, if any, bit time programs he can just jump right in and be the man. If he came to Nebraska he would likely be the man at the PG position but he would have to to pass the ball to Shields and Petteway a lot. He might be a bit skiddish running through screens(Too soon?). Doesn't seem like he would fit the physical nature of BIG 10 basketball. He would be very good when we are running but not so much in the half court. You never know what you are going to get with a kid who's transferred schools twice.

Reading the description of his on court performance I don't think he's a fit for for us. We don't need a shoot first point. Had one, played better after he left

It seems I'm not the only one that gets a strong Biggs 2.0 vibe from info on this kid.

I was thinking more along the lines of Spencer...

Perhaps, he should check out KU then.  Could party with Naadir Tharpe!
