TomEadesSucks Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 There was a lot of gnashing of teeth when Gesell picked Iowa, but honestly, right now Benny is playing better than Gesell, and it's not really even close, IMO. Not saying I wouldn't take Gesell on this team, but who would have thought Benny vs Mike could be a debate? HuskerActuary, Silverbacked1 and Shuttlesworth 3 Quote

GoBigRed Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Gesell was 0-10 tonight. Not at all the collegiate player many thought he was going to be. I would honestly be shocked if Tai Webster's sophomore stats next year are not better than Gesell's this year. Quote
Blackshirt83 Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Benny has better coaching. 49r, Norm Peterson, REDZONEDAN and 2 others 5 Quote
AuroranHusker Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 This year Iowa's team, if they didn't have Roy Devyn Marble, would be totally screwed (and they still are with him). Gesell's all-around game tonight looked more like a train wreck than a legit B1G PG... Quote
busticket Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Gesell has been pedestrian at best, and not clutch at all. Benny is way better at this point. He makes plays that have a huge impact on the outcome. It is pretty funny how things work out sometimes. Quote
royalfan Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 He is better than his performance of late. We gotta keep sample sizes in mind when evaluating. I am pretty sure we would be better off with him here. But it doesn't really matter. He isn't here and he isn't getting the coaching we have. Quote
hhcscott Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 I don't see the Benny vs Mike comparison, their roles are different. Tai and Mike are having similar struggles, the main difference is that Nebraska has been progressing and Iowa regressing since about January Quote

Not saying I wouldn't take Gesell on this team, but who would have thought Benny vs Mike could be a debate? That might be a bit of a stretch. Don't judge how good Gesell is based on just his last game. He gets lots of steals and is very quick and takes care of the ball. Mike is a very smooth player and pushes the tempo for them. If I had to choose, I'd take Gesell as his overall game is better than Parkers. Benny has been playing very well but Gesell is a much better overall player. Quote
huskerbaseball13 Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Maybe. But Gessell>>>>>>>Webster Quote
