Norm Peterson Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Sad. Hope it's nothing other than not playing basketball. Like I hope it's not life threatening. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 That is really bad. So basically he could have died against us that game? Quote

Bugeaters1 Posted March 5, 2014 Author Report Posted March 5, 2014 That is really bad. So basically he could have died against us that game? So yeah it could have, At least the doctors caught his in time so that wouldn't happen. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 I remember when Hank died, still is hard to watch. So him falling to the floor and reaching to the bench was really something bad, could have been really bad. Okay I'm gong to go hug my boys now even if they are in their twenties. tcp and jimmykc 2 Quote
AuroranHusker Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Wow, that's crazy... the Hank Gathers reference is surreal. Quote

MichHusker Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Eery... today marks the anniversery of Hank Gathers death Okay that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I had to double check the date to make sure I was right about it. Too weird Quote
Jadler Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 This is terrible news. He seemed like a great guy: laughing at the stuff we were chanting at him, flipping us off when we chanted airball at his teammate. Watching him go down was odd; didn't look right. Someone asked if he had a lasting concussion from another game. Fuck, this is just terrible. Quote
hhcdave Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Sad to hear this. He was a pretty good basketball player, too. I hope he can get this under control and live a nice long life. Sorry, Jay. Quote
Shuttlesworth Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Definitely a sad deal. Thank God they found the problem before something catastrophic happened and hopefully they can get him the proper treatment so that he can live a long and happy life. Quote
Tallbaby21 Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Off topic but here's Hank matching up with Shaq in one of the craziest games in college hoops history. Quote
Hooper Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 I'm no cardiologist, but when I saw that dude go down at PBA and then they said that he just fainted, I knew something was up. That's a huge red flag for serious heart problems. Quote
Ron Mexico Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Tim mentioned it on his TV show. I believe he said it was a scary situation. Quote
royalfan Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Thank goodness that this didn't end up far worse. Not that it is good. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 This is the kid that kind of collapsed on the floor during our game. I thought it was a strange looking situation, but apparently he has to now give up the game. Good luck to this young man in the future! http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/purdue/2014/03/04/purdue-says-jay-simpson-has-career-ending-heart-condition/6046741/ Quote
tcp Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 not to be a jerk, but didn't we have a sizeable thread on this already? Quote
Huskerpapa Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Sorry, I don't know how, but I blew right by it. Mods (dimes) this can be removed... Quote
