What awards could TP win in the conference in your opinion? Do we have a new comer....if huskers went in a run could he get any talk of big ten player of year?

I don't think he's in the running for POTY. Probably not first team either. The league is just too deep. Maybe 2nd team. We'll have to see. But he could easily be pre-season 1st team all conference going into next season.

Dude's leading scorer in the Big Ten. He's absolutely in the running for every award as of today.

According to the B1G website, he's third behind Stauskas and Gary Harris from MSU. Stauskas is also tops in the league in 3-pt % and 3-ptrs made and he's also 7th in the league in assists and 4th in assist:turnover ratio. I think he's in the driver's seat for POTY honors.

Then, if the 1st team is 5 players, they'll probably stick someone on there from each of the top 3 or 4 teams in the league and, I mean, there's just a lot of very good players in the league who probably get a little more pub or cred or whatever you want to call it because they aren't from Nebraska.

We have to win some games first. The best player on a mediocre team isn't going to garner all-conference first team honors even if he is among the league leaders in scoring.

Didn't Tim Frazier go 1st team big ten two years ago? I think he won scoring title but penn state wasn't very good.

I'm just saying there's a chance

Lost in 2006 with Marquette to Barry Collier

Lost in 2012 with Indiana to Doc Sadler

Lost in 2014 with Indiana to Tim Miles

So, what you're saying is that Tim Miles >>> Doc Sadler >>> Barry Collier >>> Tom Crean.  I totally get it.

I'm rewatching the game right now in btn.

That stretch when we has Parker, Rivers, smith, Gallegos, and shields out there was brutal.

Let's try to keep away from that lineup

Wasn't Peltzy in there as well for a brief stint near the end of the 1st half w/ Parker?

Markowski was on 1480 yesterday afternoon, talking abut 4 or 5 more years to make the dance.  I'm way more optimistic than that.

 

 

It's happening next year.

Lol I love Andy, but what is he talking about? Petteway is taking us to the tournament. We have a superstar on our team and a good enough supporting cast that will only get better next year and the year after.

Markowski has beef with Miles for some reason. He was very vocal about it when Miles was hired but I never heard any reason for it. Anyway, it's the reason he doesn't fill in on the radio anymore. After he was critical of the hire Osborne told him he wasn't going to be on the broadcasts anymore.

Maybe it goes back to when Andy was an assistant coach, and the two clashed at some point in time. Who knows, hopefully Markowski gets over it sooner than later because he'll miss out on the joy of Nebrasketball success under Miles & Co.
