Agreed, and we foul 30 feet from the basket with 7 seconds left on the shot clock. Story of the tournament. They all need to take a good, long look at this film.

Say what you want, and I know he's the whipping boy around here, but I would rather have a couple Bennys out there than a couple of the starters. He actually looks like he gives a crap about playing on a team, not just getting his shots in, and he doesn't flip out like a damn drama queen when he gets a foul called on him. Kid could teach some of these guys a thing or two about playing defense, and about being a team player. He clearly knows he's not The Guy, but he tries and cares and doesn't play dumb basketball, and that's more than we can say about a lot of guys in red right now.

Well, I don't really have much of an issue with the reffing in this one, I DO have a problem with the effort our guys put out there in the second half.

 

We looked like we were the team that just lost a 2OT game the day before.

UAB is not very good and umass would have been middle of the pack at best in the B1G. There was no excuse to lose both of these games.

Exactly. We are a bunch of individuals right now. At times we string together some good plays, but for the most part, no one seems to have any idea what the other teammates on the floor are going to do. Especially on the defensive end.

And you base this on what again? UAB had UNM beat, and UMass being middle of the pack in the B1G says nothing about their quality, given that middle of the pack in the B1G is a tournament team. Maybe put more thought into this.

Well... we have the talent to beat anyone we play this year... bad thing is we have the team that could lose to anyone as well.  Right the ship... get out of Charleston with a W and get back home.  Lot of learning to do.

Goin to be a long years folks. Probably should be expected. This is going to be a 4-5 year project based on Tim Miles past work. But, at the least it would be nice to see a team playing with effort. Second half was just bad bad bad...coaches and the players should be embarrassed.

I know every opinion is valued, but let's remember as fans that we're in this together. I guess what I'm saying is that one of the things I appreciate most about this board is the good nature we have and how we don't attack each other. I'm not saying we are already attacking each other. Let's just agree to take our frustrations out on Creighton, or Plainview or whatever they're called.

We as fans just need to remember that we all said it could be a long season and it might be.

I will be worried if this is still going on late into the season. Tim has something to work on.

I wouldn't say we have the talent to beat anyone...our only big man is 6-8. I don't count Pitchford as a big man because he is terrible on defense and doesn't play in the post on offense. With that lack of size, we're going to get abused by teams with good inside play, i.e. most Big Ten teams.
