Norm Peterson Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 https://twitter.com/JDLuebe/status/376559452159086592 I reiterate, that kid is NOT fat. Anyone worried about the USS Andre II, fear not. That's an awesome pic, by the way. Quote

Norm Peterson Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 I just gotta say I want this kid. I want us to get this kid. He could be that "one player" we've always said is what it takes to turn a program around. Cookie Belcher 1 Quote

Silverbacked1 Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 After looking at that picture I now know that I am not over weight. No I am under tall. And yes I think we could use somebody like this on our team. Quote

bobcat402 Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 Kid is exactly what I would expect 7'1 280-300 lb 18 yr old center to look like...remeber maric when he came in? and remember what he looked like when he left, if Elbert commits, and stay 2-3 years gets committed in the Weight room...forget about it. hhcmatt 1 Quote
busticket Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 Coach Miles and Elbert were below me (waaay below me) at the game. It was kind of hard to miss Elbert, especially with the orange shirt. It looked like he was having a good time with Pitchford and Coach Miles. I was thrilled getting a top 150 center commitment, and now we have a very real shot at a top 50ish BIG man. He does look decently athletic for his age and measureables. It would be such a luxury to have a kid that big and strong to man the paint. The years of Doc throwing SG's like Anderson and Dagunduro into the post were brutal; getting Elbert would help wash those memories away. Also, yet another shrewd move by Miles hiring Kenya Hunter to get us in the door with some of the kids he's been recruiting. These man has serious vision. Quote
ajb5856 Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 So how does this affect things with the Elbert decision? http://zagsblog.com/recruiting/myles-turner-sets-ohio-state-visit-will-host-kentucky-for-in-home/ Myles turner is down to 8 (we've known that for awhile) but he has now set a visit at Ohio State for October. Turner also claims that he will probably commit somewhere late, maybe in January or February, and sign in the spring. I'm guessing it would be good for us in regards to Elbert for Turner to play along with Ohio State and keep them under consideration for as long as possible. Quote
cwshuskers Posted September 11, 2013 Report Posted September 11, 2013 Big E tweeted something last night (around when the OSU coaches were there) about his little brother not being allowed to come with and he didn't sound happy about it. Said he "didnt want to go anymore". Can only presume he was talking about his upcoming OSU visit. His brother came with on his Nebraska visit. Quote

Not everything these players tweet about relates to their basketball recruitment. Agree here. We don't really know what it was that little brother wasn't allowed to do. Maybe it was something sa simple as Elbert meeting his friends at the mall, little brother wanting to tag along, but mommy said no. Quote

Nice find ajb, this will be a good asset for us when it comes to Elbert's decision. Does osu slow play him now? This may make the final two us and gtown. Quote

As long as we're using the deciphering of tweets tactic to add pages to the thread let me throw this out there...I think Elbert may be tweeting in response to the 'Crystal Ball' predictor thing that 247sports does where certain recruiting gurus predict what school a recruit is going to. Several hours ago there was this: @MBohlin247: First Elbert Robinson to Ohio State prediction RT @pt247: Newest Crystal Baller @ZachFleerLGHL first five predictions http://t.co/7Jw5upNA7F FWIW this was the first prediction for Ohio State as a destination for Elbert out of 3 total guesses. The other 2 guys have predicted Georgetown. I hope they're all wrong. Quote

Speaking of his tweets too, you would hope he would commit after his last visit and not pull the wait until the signing day to decide on a team. Quote

Let me just say those are some pretty seriously stylin' shades coach has on there. And let me add that Elbert was one happy young man at that Nebraska football game. The smiles are priceless. Whether he ends up here or not, you know he's seriously considering it and will have very pleasant memories of his visit to NE. With those smiles, I'd have to think we're in the hunt. That might sound overly simplistic, but you don't laugh like that with people you don't feel comfortable with and so many times we hear recruits pick a school based on feeling like they just fit in there. Looks to me like Elbert feels like he fits in. Quote
