I read that Coach Miles asked for a three year commitment from each assistant. This is why Chin was never offered an assistants role as he would not commit to the three years. So much for Ben Johnson's word if this happens.

Not sure I would fault him too much for going to Minn.  He played there...

During his collegiate career, Johnson was a four-year starting guard in college at a pair of Big Ten schools. He played his first two years at Northwestern University, and his junior and senior seasons at the University of Minnesota. He scored 1,202 points during his college career and helped lead Minnesota to the National Invitation Tournament semifinals in 2003. He was also named team captain three of his years in school.

Ya know, if a player decides to leave he has to sit out a year, if he transfers within the conference, it is two years.  I guess my angst includes the fact that he is leaving, but more so, he is leaving for another Big Ten school...or so it sounds.

If he gave Coach Miles his word to stay three years, and as a result was hired as an assistant, I fault him a whole bunch!!!

It definitely sucks that we're losing him to a conference school in a state where we were counting on him doing some good work for us. That said, I don't really blame him for leaving. :(

Ben Johnson is a nice up-and-coming assistant coach, but I'm really glad it isn't Harriman leaving. I think he's a big key to us taking that next step.

Johnson's been a pretty significant recruiter for us.  He's got ties all over the upper mid west and Big Ten circles.  They're pretty comparable.  It would be a significant blow.

Strickland?

That was my first thought as well.  It will be interesting to see what happens if he does decide to take the job.
