Miles said on SN last night that Gallegos looked worn out to him, despite having a very solid game against Iowa. He won't have to play anywhere close to that many minutes next year.

Miles also said that Ray has got to get better at driving to the basket and getting to the foul line, and that he'll benefit from having guards next year who are good facilitators, like Biggs and Webster. He mentioned that Talley was not a natural point guard.

Ray will get better looks next year and will be fresher for sure.

I wonder what the previous record was.

For total minutes?  Hoppen had it, I believe.  Gallegos beat him, but not by much.

And one wonders why he had the appearence of tired legs...hopefully when we can keep his legs fresh, he will be a higher percentage shooter next year.  At least that is my expectation.

It'll take a crazy set of circumstances for anything like this to ever happen again.  I think his conference minutes record might never be broken.  He was playing more than 38 minutes per game, which means he sat less than two minutes per game.  He never fouled out of a conference game and, in fact, only committed 30 fouls in all of 18 conference games.  That's ... not many.  Most minutes but fewest fouls of anyone who played regular minutes.  One foul every 19+ minutes in conference play.  That's like one per half.

Actually, Norm, he averaged 38.5!  Nearly a minute and a half more than DeShaun Thomas who was next!  That's a lot of minutes!

Ray is a testament that hard work pays off.  It's an amazing accomplishment to lead the conference in minutes and three-pointers made (and, likely, 3's shot as well).

If he leads the conference in 3 points made than he must lead the conference in attempts by a factor of at least 2.  :P

In 18 league games, he sat 26 total minutes.  That's not even 2 minutes per game of rest.  This is a record that might never be broken.

Pitchford might need to try next year

Gallegos is a true baller -- a definition of a hoops junkie.  He was playing pick-up games at the rec during a couple day off stretch they had during the latter part of the season.  My buddy played with him and could not believe he was there.  Just loves the game.

That's some great info in light of the fact he also set the school record for critical tweets from 93.7 the Ticket radio personalities.

...and Bahe can only dream about having the elevation and release that Ray has.

Actually, I don't think I've seen Bahe tweet about Gallegos.

I haven't either.  It's been the other one that's been critical of Ray-Ray.  I think Nick's been pretty fair with this team.
