Brandon Ubel was one of the recipients of the B1G Sportsmanship Award. Way to go, Brandon.  I'm not sure how one qualifies for that honor.  It reminds me of the Miss Congeniality award at a beauty pageant.  I wonder how Brandon looks in a two piece.  Probably a damned sight better than Almeida....

I was hoping Shavon made the team as well, but them's the breaks when you're in 10th place.

Congrats to Dylan for getting mentioned. Well-earned.

It's really hard to argue with who made the Freshman teams...

Shavon should have made the All-Freshman team, otherwise, I cannot complain to much about the teams.

Who would you replace? Shields had a great year but I don't know who you replace on that team.  I think Nik Stauskas gets on there before Shields.  Easily would be 2nd team if they went that deep.

I don't have a problem with the list. I thought Shavon could have edged out either Baby Big Dog or Ferrell, but I'm a homer on that score. Good freshmen this year.

Absolutely, great season out of Shavon, but honestly, those two had much better seasons than Shavon.  Any other conference, any other season, he's on the list.

Likely no one Dimes...I am a homer, and I simply believe he was a top five freshman.

Many of the fouls called on Ubel this year, I just looked at the guy and wondered, "How can he just stand there and put up with that bullsh!t and not say something to the ref?  Or at least roll his eyes a bit.  Or react somehow.  He gets mauled on the other end of the floor and there's not call, yet when he gets whistled for some ticky-tack nonsense on the defensive end ... he doesn't react AT ALL.  He has SO MUCH MORE control of his emotions than I would have.  He deserves an award for how he keeps his cool in the face of this crap."

And, so it is.  He gets an award.  Well deserved IMO.

CWG, I was looking at the numbers of the top freshmen yesterday, and frankly, he wasn't a top five guy.  He was probably seventh or eighth on the list.  If he had been healthy to start the season, perhaps he would have had an argument, but even then, the pool of freshmen this year was so deep that he just didn't quite meet the standard.  Just bad timing this year.

I certainly understand.  I truly am not intending to disrespect the voting or choices that were made.  My reference was the blind loyalty and homerism that I extend to our players :) - and to quote 49r - "I really like the kid"
