I agree.  It's fun and everything but treat it just like you would any other game.  Takes the pressure off the guys and all the talk of NU never winning one.  Act like making the tournament is expected.  It would drive me nuts when high school parents would make such a big deal out of going to state and kids would be so much on edge they would psych themselves out and play tight and nervous.  Granted these guys are older and more mature, but I would not treat it as that big of a deal. (until the season was over)  The tournament games are exciting enough by themselves.

I’d rather see people pack PBA for a watch party and the rail yard go nuts when we win our first tournament game.  Lol!

Well seeing as how I'm in Phoenix for the next couple of weeks, maybe is a bit of a stretch. 

 

But I agree with @Navin R. Johnson here.  If we want to be taken seriously as a hoops program a Selection Sunday watch party is something I think we should avoid.  It's such a mid to low major thing to do.

If we've been there and done it year after year, then I overwhelmingly agree that a watch party is not warranted.

BUT, our lack of basketball history allows us the right to celebrate incremental victories.  We struggle getting to the dance.  "Our story" can be and should be celebrated.  And we may have a flippin parade if we win one, and we may shut down schools if we get to the sweet 16.

...and lest we forget, we have some of our brothers talking statues...soooo

It's a Nebraska wants to generate some revenue in the arena thing to do.

How about this as a compromise?  If the boys can make it to the BTT final, they should host a PBA watch party for that game and fans will be welcome to stick around for the Selection show.
